100 Thieves claim EWC 2026 trophy with 3-1 over NRG

After starting on opposite sides of the playoff bracket, the two North American squads finally matched up in the best-of-five grand final.

Starting off on Breeze, 100T fired the first shot with a 9-3 attack half. Despite investing both timeouts, NRG struggled to respond to 100T's forward postplants and silent movements around the map. Round 18 was the nail in the coffin for NRG, as a pinpoint Sova ultimate from vora earned 100T a major thrifty win and spurred them on to a 13-7 victory.

The second map was Sunset. 100T once again started with a 9-3 lead, this time on their defense, with a 4K from bang securing 100T their ninth round.

Even without a second pistol, the attack side was equally smooth for 100T as they closed it out 13-6. Cryocells was an utter monster throughout the entire map; the Cypher player collected two 4Ks and three 1v1s to end with a 23/7/10 KDA and 212 ADR.

With their backs against the wall, NRG came alive on Haven, crushing 100T in 13-2 fashion with an impenetrable defense. 100T didn't win a single buy round, and a double pistol win for NRG ensured a quick end to the map. mada ran rampant as Phoenix with 20 kills and a 1.95 rating.

Ascent came down to the wire. At first, the map seemed to heavily favor NRG—the champs shut down 100T everywhere they went for a 6-0 start and a 9-3 defensive half.

Down but not out, 100T gradually worked their way back into the map. Timotino 's Operator and Cryo's Cypher setups proved to be the biggest problems for NRG, with Timotino racking up multikills and Cryo consistently reading where NRG wanted to go and adjusting his setups accordingly. NRG hit map point first, going up 12-10, but 100T denied the win and forced overtime.

When it mattered most, Asuna came alive with back-to-back 3Ks, enabling 100T to win Ascent 14-12 and take home the trophy on their first match point.

Cryo was awarded tournament MVP after an unreal finals performance, scoring 26 kills on Ascent for a cumulative 65/52/25 KDA over the course of the series.

Nongshim defeats BBL in close 2-0 to take third place

Prior to the grand final, Nongshim and BBL faced off in the consolation final to determine which team would earn third place and the prize money that came with it.

The best-of-three began on Nongshim's pick of Breeze. BBL held a brief lead after a pistol and a 1v2 from Loita , but Nongshim's overwhelming Mid aggression combined with Dambi's Operator enabled them to streak six rounds in a row for an 8-4 lead at the half.

Individual heroics from the BBL side swiftly closed the gap, with lovers rock and Lar0k both pulling off impressive 1v3 clutches in retake scenarios for a six-round streak of their own. After a timeout, Nongshim ultimately put a stop to BBL's momentum, breaking through the sites to win 13-10. Dambi led the server on his signature Neon pick with 26 kills and 208 ADR.

Nongshim carried their momentum forward into Lotus, where they steamrolled BBL on their attack side for a 10-2 half. The Nongshim members, particularly Rb and Dambi, were in disgusting mechanical form, finding crucial picks and trades in chaotic situations.

However, much like they did on Breeze, BBL made things dangerous. The Turkish squad converted the bonus round and continued to thrive in the man disadvantage situations Nongshim put them in to take the score to 11-9. In the end, Nongshim staved off the comeback, securing a 13-11 win and taking their place on the tournament podium. Rb and Dambi finished the map ahead of the rest with 25 kills and 24 kills respectively.
