What's your unpopular competitive Valorant opinion? Mine's that Fracture is my favorite map to watch
People were upset at it before franchsing even started
Everyone knows franchising is better for players and orgs but worse for viewers
Is it though? As a viewer I love seeing top tier competition on a weekly basis. There are downsides sure, and I bet a bunch of them will get fixed with time/experience
Cant watch mid games like FaZe vs XBOT if you can have LOUD vs NRG without it even being international LAN
NRG gonna save that Riot money and get yay when his DSG contract is up trust
Yay is a fraud.
Boosted stats from broken chamber agent.
A lot of people don't realize that a lot of duelist players are carried by Jett and Chamber.
It's the agent that makes them look good
Flexibility is more important than being a chamber or Jett abuser.
That's why Cloud 9 did better without Yay.
They solved their role issues when Yay can only play fucking Sage, Chamber and Jett.
The true GOAT duelist is Derke.
He is not a one trick duelist.
Different meta =/= fraud. I think the valorant community should start looking at the "best in the world" in terms of metas. Yay was the best in chamber meta, now he's not.
Yay was the best in chamber meta, now he's not.
Well we can't tell that bc the mf got kicked out.
He was also the only one doing well against DRX
Ahh this dwighty guy is suchh a bitcchh, always bitching in vlr, like do you even have a life outside of your basement? god damn...
Saying c9 did better without yay is a crime. Their only loss was against drx and it is pretty acceptable. And what did you see derke play good other than jett and chamber ? He is not a menace on raze bro
this is his recent performances against "good team" and look at his overall stats https://www.vlr.gg/167391/loud-vs-drx-champions-tour-2023-lock-in-s-o-paulo-sf
plus nobody overrated him
I have been downvoted heavily for presenting this in the past and people still call him a top 2 flex ITW
zyppan plays more agents than him and is better than him all of them. Zekken is top 5 though.
Victor has proven he is the best flex. Bro has performed well in duelist, initiator, sentinel, controller roles. The MOST flexible player in the world
used to say this before but recently he's picked up and started to not choke and is now clutching alot as well.
I still think he has the most potential out of anyone on DRX bc he can aim so good when not underpressure and has insane peaks (he has the best flick of all time vs optic).
Hopefully RB can get his confidence again bc RB on Jett used to hit insane shots back in 2020/2021.
My problem with him has never been in groups/quals or in mid tier matches. I'm not saying he's bad when playing teams like Talon or Zeta or BBL, my problem is that EVERY tournament they've ever played in they go far and plateau, and literally every time he looks bad. He doesn't make egregious game losing mistakes, but every single final match or second to last match DRX has played since 2021 at LAN he has been their worst performer. The problem is that he plays well and flexes a lot in APAC and in the early rounds so he has job security, but realistically their ceiling is lowered with him on the team.
He wasn't the worst in lockin, that was Zest. RB looks like he's getting better at handling pressure. Plus, DRX is the youngest team besides LEV, ofc they will choke
yeah but he was definitely mad choking on ascent against loud but ig that could be said for everyone too besides mako
Look at his games versus Optic and FPX in champs, or at Copenhagen, or versus Zeta and Optic in Reykjavik. In all of DRX's final two games since the start of 2022 he's averaging a .83 rating with 177 ACS while going -83(!!!) in 8 games. Zest isn't that bad, no one is that bad. I don't give a fuck if ur playing a bunch of roles, those numbers are nearly identical to current form tenz, brave and takej. If you were told one of ur 5 players were gonna play on that level when facing high level competition, would you keep him around? If you want something more digestible, why don't we look at these stats. Out of the 50 players with the most games played against elite competition, he ranks 46th in rating, 38th in ACS, 49th in KAST!!!, 44 in KD, a negative fk/fd, and 36th in assists grouped only with players that one trick duelists and 3 hard anchor sentinel players. I just don't get how some players get knives thrown at them for having one bad performance but RB gets away with doing it every tournament he plays in when it matters most. Obviously DRX's only problem isn't him but MaKo, Buzz, Stax, and Zest have never been this consistently bad.
Guy is silver and instalocks duelist lmao , his flexibility is so damn good he plays pretty much all the roles and fills for the team that's a Big W
NRG would still be struggling with yay and marved . They have legitimate issues trying to figure out who should play what agent and even with yay they would be having the same or worse issues.
Navi has the best attack side ascent itw (probably not a hot take but oh well)
Leviatan is overrated (in general)
2020's meta was the main reason for brazil not step up before.
too much focus on aim + mechanics and that's it, you've got 5 high skilled players that can't explore their's respective potential both individually and as a team, in some cases the potential were totally lost due bad decisions.
Buyouts and bidding wars for players do nothing to help the players, orgs, or region.
https://www.vlr.gg/173220/team-liquid-vs-fut-esports-champions-tour-2023-emea-league-w1
it comes down to VIT vs TL imo and I think Liquid are capable of taking that series
TenZ indirectly ruined NA Valorant by starting the trend of massive buyouts that aren't affordable for orgs in the long run and keeping players around after bad performances so long as they have clout
Nats is probably one of the most overrated players in VCT people put him in the tier of best sentinels when he hasn't been that for a whole year.
Unpopular opinion: ShahZaM is good enough for franchising and SEN's bad year can't be blamed on him
SEN’s bad year came from
Lev kiNgg and Chronicle are the respective best players in the world for their unmatched Flexibility at playing every agent at the highest level, with kiNgg even IGLing
franchising will be dogshit for the first year but good in the long run for the esport
we are entering a meta that will be even more brain numbing to watch than chamber meta or viper/astra meta
This whole thing is scripted, riot manipulating matches in the background making certain shots whiff and some land
Chamber meta was actually decently entertaining to watch. A lot more multi-kills and frag reels than nowadays.
br deserved 4 slots and latam only 1
So Americas should be...
5 NA
4 BR
1 LATAM
Sentinels should have added Sinatraa to the main roster during the whole Kanpeki/Zellsis/Rawkus arc
Also that if the allegations had never happened, Sinatraa would 100% be in franchising.
I agree that mastery over many agents is a skill that increases a player's value but that doesn't mean they are automatically better than duelist players (and Derke and Aspas aren't one tricks they play Jett and Raze)
i agree with everything but I think vic and crashies are the two most valuable players on nrg
Chet and FNS have become so caught up on sticking to an anti Jett meta after their success in creating chamber meta last season that they have genuinely lost touch of what their players are comfortable on don’t realize that more comfortable players on a worse comp can much outperform uncomfortable players on a good comp
