"For over 9 years, I have received more love and support than I could ever deserve," carpe said. carpe joined T1 in 2022 as the team moved its operations from North America to South Korea. A former Overwatch DPS, carpe competed for FaZe Clan and Philadelphia Fusion in the title, and also won the Overwatch World Cup with South Korea in 2018. He moved into Valorant in 2022 after wrapping up a four-year career in Overwatch. He was primarily T1's Initiator player in his first year with the org, competing alongside former Overwatch players Munchkin and Sayaplayer .
T1 ended that year third in Pacific, qualifying the team for Masters Tokyo and Champions Los Angeles. After being eliminated in the group stage of both events, T1 made changes, adopting a more multi-national roster that saw carpe and Sayaplayer join forces with the American

T1 started the year with Sylvan as its starting Controller player, but was replaced by carpe after three games in Pacific Kickoff. carpe played in the team's opening match at Masters Bangkok, but was soon after replaced by Sylvan as the team went on a trophy-lifting run.

Since his match in Bangkok, carpe has been T1's designated sixth-man. Even as the team moved from Sylvan to DH and then DH to the return of Munchkin, carpe has been ever-present in the T1 room.
Currently 27 and turning 28 later this year, carpe is approaching the age at which all Korean males must address mandatory military service, which may be the source of his decision to step away.
