I just started watching VCT I was watching Ludwig and I heard him mention it awhile ago and I’ve been getting into it. I play a little bit of valorant on and off so I don’t know much.
Who are the best teams and some people I should know? I know Ludwigs team and tenz and Florescent and that’s its.

plat chat is made up of professional analysts and casters bro, wdym "arent necessarily the best analysts"
yeah they can be wrong when it comes to predicting match outcomes but generally they have pretty good professional opinions when it comes to game review and strategy.

The best team is controversial right now because (the usual good ones are losing) but your probably looking at G2 for americas although Sentinels (tenz's old team) just beat them

Well unfortunately florescent just retired (at least for the time being) the best teams rn are: sen, mibr, g2, fnatic, heretics, drx, t1, geng, and xlg. The most well known english content creators that watch vct are tarik, sideshow (when not casting), sliggy, thinking mans valorant, shanks, ardiis, and seangares.

I recommend watching TMV if you want an in-depth analysis of VCT games. He also does watch parties, so it’s fun to follow along. I also suggest checking out PlatChat Valorant, which hosts a podcast that is pretty entertaining.
As for the best teams right now: from NA, I’d say G2, SEN, and MIBR look strong. In EU, probably TH, FNC, TL, and maybe VIT. From CN, it’s XLG, EDG, and WOLVES. And in APAC, GENG, T1, DRX, and RRQ

Players you should know in the America's region playoffs currently:

Aspas(mibr): Possibly the goat(very hot topic)
Zekken(Sentinels): Sen's star duelist and almost always has good performance, and has one of the highest ceilings of any player, and when he plays to that ceiling he looks unstoppable.
Entire G2 roster: Almost all the players almost never under perform and play very clean valorant which can get kind of boring but they are still insane
Yay(EG): In 2022 he was one of the best players in the world and was pretty much unstoppable on chamber and jett, but then fell of in 2023, 2024, and the start of this year, but recently he has looked like he is starting to come back into his prime form

Also you should know of FNS(NRG) and Boostio(100T), they both rival each other in terrible performances, but boostio sometimes decides to shoot back and when he does he can hit some insane shots, also boostio always shit talks the other team and stands up and yells at the other team if his team makes a player even if his team is down like 2-10

There are other players that you should know, but you will learn about them if you keep watching.

Who looks like the best player in the world right now? I’ve heard of aspas a little bit I think and I know sentinels. People have said sentinels are one of the best American teams, how good are they?

#34

Frags

Its hard to say who the best player in the world is right now, but players like trent, jawgemo, kangkang(ZmjjKK), t3xture, aspas, meteor and a couple other players have generally been in the conversation of whose the best, there are a couple other players who have looked really good during split 1, but due to them either having zero international experience or little international experience, its hard to really say they are the best in the world.

Also currently Sen have looked very good, even beating out G2 which has been considered the best or second best team for the majority of this year. I would put Sen, mibr, and G2 in a tier above the other america's team currently, they all seem like they can beat each other which makes it hard to rank them.

for apac you have T1 who won the most recent masters but are DOWN right now but not out GEN.G are the first apac/KR team to win a masters BOOM,RRQ/TALON are the best SEA teams indo, thai respectively

emea as a whole is a region known for slow play but they make up for it by having history and storylines in most of valorants years team heretics is team full of young talents and FNC is the best EU org with the most wins recently had there core shaken up but they look great

CN team to look out for is EDG they are all insane and are a joy to watch have really good games and have tendency to get eco'd (low gun buy) so adds to the charm

americas
mibr have the goat(debatable) aspas and roster full of sick talent,G2 got 2nd the most recent masters and people say they play "perfect" valorant heavy hitter coming into toronto, SEN was a insane roster last year getting a trophy and upset G2 recently

there also a bunch of dark horses under dogs but they change every year so you will see also tips for this website if u see a players name with 0s they are getting called a fraud and a bunch of other things usually hate/debates recency bias is mandatory

This was probably the most insightful response I’ve gotten yet! Thank you, I appreciate this. I’ve noticed a couple common themes that aspas is one of the best players ever.

#39

pretty much aspas has been the biggest X factor in scene every team he joins always becomes a contender chronicle has the most trophies of any player and sacy a retired player is the only one with a champions and masters those are the main 3 in best player contention chronicle and aspas being the main contenders for 1st 4-5th is a rotation of who was good that year rankings usual go for either mechs 1st trophies 2nd or trophies 1st placements 2nd

Not team info but a lil bit of Region summary, hope this helps.

  • Americas
Covers NA, SA, and the LATAM region. Arguably, the most decorated region. Balanced playstyle with emphasis on star player and crisp aims. I'd say they got great Top teams, but a little bit top-heavy. Teams to watch: SEN, G2, MIBR
  • Pacific
Covers KR, JP, SEA, HKTW, and South Asia region. The current Masters' (major) title holder. Super aggressive, fast-paced (often reckless) playstyle. They have quite a competitive league (the aforementioned Masters holder is in the lower bracket rn). Teams to watch : DRX, GenG, T1 (my personal pick is RRQ and BME)
  • EMEA
Covers the EU and MENA regions. Very slow, planned, and methodical play style. They were giants in 2022-2023 but are currently having a dip in form. Teams to watch: FNC, TH, VIT
  • China
Covers the China region. The current world champion is from this region. Very unorthodox playstyle, sometimes throwing away fundamentals (maybe because of their new addition to the league). Dominated by EDG, but now is having shift of power. Teams to watch: EDG, XLG, BLG (Wolves is a good wildcard, they are going to masters).

Pacific is more evenly distributed, the worst team is not that bad, the best team is still in question

Honestly watch a lot of clips to get used to the plays and players imo. Also u can scroll through vlr for a lot of previous info.
There is a lot of " top moments" videos of VCT in YT.

Today there are games from EMEA ( watch FNC vs TH as its a battle between 2 of the best teams in that region rn)
Also G2 vs EG are happening today which is an elimination game (G2 were the previous grand finalists and considered the top team but they are facing elimination now)
Mibr vs Sen is happening as well which is gonna be a good game.

Also maybe watch co-streamers/watchparties of people like tarik, sliggy, ThinkingMansValo etc. Depends on what streamer personality you like. Also FNS and s0m are coming back to streaming today who a lot of people love ( they play for NRG but they got eliminated)

As a general overview for VCT:
Americas
The region itself covers the NA, SA, and Latam regions. Full of highlights and popoff moments, it has to be the best region to watch for those things. The region is a bit top heavy and has a big tier gap from the top level teams and the bottom level teams. The teams to watch are Sentinels, G2, and MiBR. SEN and MiBR have qualified to Toronto and are currently fighting in the upper bracket for a place in the GF of the America's playoffs, G2 is battling it out in the lower bracket verses Evil Geniuses to qualify to Toronto.

EMEA
The region covers Europe, the Middle East, and Africa but only has European teams really. This region has a much more methodical and slow approach to the game compared to America's but still has plenty of popoff moments to watch on stream. The teams to watch are Fnatic, Team Heretics, and Team Liquid. Due to tech issues, the EMEA group stage hasn't ended yet but there will be a banger match happening soon, FNC vs TH, which will decide the 1st seed in Group Alpha.

Pacific
The region covers Korea, Japan, and Southeast Asia. This region covers the biggest area and so there are many different playstyles. Korea plays more like EMEA and utility based and SEA plays more like Americas, very aggressive and aim based. The teams to watch are Gen.G, BOOM ESPORTS, and DRX. In the playoffs Gen.G have qualified to Toronto and is fighting against RRQ in the upper bracket for a spot in the GF, BOOM and DRX are fighting in the lower bracket for a place in Toronto.

China
The region covers Mainland China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. The league is very new and is only in it's 2nd year of being made, but they are the most recent Champions winners. The region is like SEA and Americas, very aggressive and aim based but way more chaotic than the others. The teams to watch are EDG, XLG, and Wolves. XLG and Wolves are fighting against each other in the upper bracket for a place in the GF and EDG are fighting in the lower bracket against BLG for a spot in Toronto.

On the content side, there are many good content creators. The ones I watch are the Plat Chat Valorant podcast, which consists of VCT talent discussing the current state of the esport, ThinkingMansValorant, Sliggy who is a former Tier 1 coach who co-streams VCT matches and does analysis of the games, and TacticalRab who does daily news on the Valorant scene.
