In his defense (and mine) prx played amazing in Copenhagen and had a pretty good run in 2022 while this c9 team is adding 2 huge pieces into their system. I expected this matchup to be THE coin flip of the first round not a 2-0 wash.

DRX has played with the same core, so has C9. C9 has gotten major upgrades to their roster since then and Yay is actually El Diablo to them. They lost to C9 without yay. and Yay destroyed their run in Copenhagen.

I have no idea how this is gonna go. We barely saw C9 break a sweat against PRX. How good are they really? I honestly didn’t see enough to pred them. There’s no world where DRX give them as many rounds for free as PRX did. I’m sure we’re gonna get Pearl and that it’s gonna be a BANGER regardless though.

after watching both of these teams I'm starting to regret my DRX choice in pick'ems. Gotta stick with my gut and just say that this should be an absolute banger. C9 looked dominant on their map choice & even took away PRX's after figuring out what they had with the sage (which they've probably never seen scrimming in NA). DRX on the other than took 2 of their 3, arguably, strongest maps (fracture being the third here... which BBlL banned... not ascent.)
Excited to see what C9 can pull out against likely stronger competition, I'll take DRX 2-1 in a close map 3 Pearl.

Yay's midround kills and positioning always ruin DRX.
C9 beat PRX effortlessly without having Zellsis or yay pop off.
DRX STRUGGLED against BBL and have shown more (also, not much practice w Zest since they were mostly scrimming with Foxy9 before 2 weeks ago)
Buzz OP is inconsistent af (esp in map 3, he loses gas quickly). Mako will still be insane but C9 has better firepower overall esp if all the players pop off.
Yay > Buzz
Vanity < Mako
Xeppa >= Stax (since he has to focus on IGL
Zellsis > RB (RB drops off a cliff in important matches, esp against NA TEAMS, he chokes the most)
Leaf = Zest (If leaf returns to form then def leaf)
DRX 2-0, vanity sends a toxic gesture after a clutch, resulting mako body pressing all of the c9 members which they all fainted shortly after.
c9 have big advantage, drx have yet to change their setups and main strategies for the old map pool so they can watch infinite vods
if they veto out pearl and lotus i think c9 should have it on lock

Odds changes usually happen due to sharps (bettors who have a high wr%) betting a lot of money on one of the sides.

imo.. coach is to blame. match was over once he had his face in his palms. thats the gesture of utter defeat and "holy crap.. idk what to do". but credit to DRX. they are on a roll even before sao paulo. imo , they can hang with any top NA team. One of the few that can. other teams have1 or 2 players that would be of NA talent. DRX shines as a team. Hope next time c9 got it together and fixes their issues so that we can watch these 2 teams battle it out and actually performing their best. now THAT would be a banger match to watch!
