you can still be the best of your role without being on the number 1 team

Boaster is the best IGL on the planet are you joking? If fnatic drop Boaster they instantly become worse no matter who they pick up.

Chamber simultaniously stole roles from both Duelists and Sentinels (primarily Cypher and Killjoy who have seen lacklustre play since his release). Nerfing chamber now let's teams experiment with 9 o5her agents that were previously completely overshadowed by chamber's presence. Now that teams aren't FORCED to build comps around one character, the comps will be more unique.

FINALLY!

probably the most boring agent to watch in Valorant's pro play history. I truly believe if these nerfs are as effective as they seem, Valorant is about to flourish into a meta where every team is running entirely unique comps on most maps. Very hype.

its the exact same reason; people like to see characters who represent them.

same reason people like seeing agents from their country in the game

There is obviously a lot of debate around the franchised teams riot has selected, but there are a few things the people keep throwing around that are misunderstood, or blatantly wrong.

The first is the reason for franchising teams - it is NOT based on results.
Teams are franchised based on their;

  1. Willingness to spend big money on the valorant scene
  2. Popularity + fanbase
  3. Past connections with riot

Even though teams like optic and fpx performed well, teams like cloud9 and sentinels have much larger followings and streaming publicity, so understandably they were selected.

Another thing people don't understand: MOST ROSTERS WILL CHANGE! Think of franchising as a hard reset to the valorant scene. While some good teams that got into franchising, like Loud for example, will keep their roster, many others will completely change. It is CERTAIN that rosters like optic and fpx will be signed to franchised teams, because they have proven they are consistent and can win. It is also likely that franchised teams like Sentinels will rebuild their rosters around their most popular players (tenz, shahz etc.)

TLDR: franchising is based on the org, not the results. + most rosters will change.

Good luck in finding a team ❀

It must have been rough, and a real hit on the mental, not being able to play for an org for a year because of some political bullshi out of your control.
