Greatest Coaches?

  1. Mini(hands down no arguments made)

big gap

  1. T0rmi(no one can deny he's one of the best coaches, he's built up so many rosters that have all consistently performed. only thing staining his legacy is that he hasn't won a trophy yet

  2. Alecks-i only think he's lower than termi because he has had the same roster for so long and every advancement has been because of their players. I may be discrediting him, but having the roster that PRX has, of COURSE they will win a trophy eventually. i am 100% willing to switch the two, but i need a reason other than alecks has a trophy and termi is 5-6th curse.

and then who else??

i no longer think potter is one of the best because she's had great timeout calls but she hasn't returned to the international stage. maybe she just needs a new team with a better budget idk)
MCE needs to have another chance to prove himself because what he did with Guard and C9 were actually crazy at the time, but he's been in t2/3 hell ever since.

sure you have d00mbros and enghh who have been good, but i wouldn't consider them to be the greatest. i need to see them do it again with other rosters

how crazy are these takes??

edit: i think it's hard to rate good coaches because we haven't seen many consistent ones. You can't look at EDG and praise muggle for all he's done, and you can't do that with autumn with T1(to an extent)

downvoted for truth, literally took 3 tier 2 players and a completely failed roster to a champs win

everyone loooooves to say how mid ethan's calling is

so if that's the case, then bonkar is just that good no? he just has the perfect strats every time, so much that he makes a seemingly mid igl a world champ? he's gotta be minimum top 3 if that's the case

I would give a shout to joshrt

i definitely see it, but to me he's very similar to alecks. the firepower on the guard, then adding jawg and leaf, of course they'll perform well

although i guess that's a bad argument because look at FNC

Check the map bans of the last two Champions and tell me that again.... Obv he is good but no way he is GOAT status

It's hard to rate coaches as a viewer esp the ones who have been with one team for years bc we don't how much the coach impacted that team's highs and lows

#12
Lucrix
0
Frags
+

yeah i agree+at the end of the day, a lot of it comes down to how much better one team shoots the gun

but to me what makes mini so good is that he's done it on multiple rosters since the very beginning

#23
GarbanzoEnjoyer
0
Frags

Even then you have coaches like autumn who apparently focus on improving the team's mechanics, like even "shooting better" can be a coaching decision because they decide what the team prioritizes

You're right it's easier to see greatness in someone like mini who consistently buffs whichever team he joins

solid list, imo d00mbros at 3
I feel like alecks is a solid coach but he isn’t very good at developing his teams. PRX fall off after FNC loss at champs 2025 and the entire year of 2024 are big examples of that for me
also enghh has done really good at staying relevant but the last couple years have hurt his legacy pretty bad for sure

#16
Lucrix
0
Frags

i want to see how 100t go before putting d00mbros at 3 because really all he has is 2022 FPX. 2023 Navi fell off

i added engh just because he's another coach that comes to mind that did something, but doesn't justify being the greatest

if we are talking fall offs termi has more then anybody on this list and no trophy with honestly the best talent pool you could ask for KR

#54
cirruss

the biggest credit you can give a coach is longevity. and he's one of the only ones who has stayed since the beginning of the game.

he has regional trophies and two third places at champs, dont get me wrong no intl trophy hurts, but if he got one he might just be the GOAT imo

#55
jixk
0
Frags
+

he stayed but he didnt stay good i feel like that factors in to his longevity other than Theory and scouting kind of.. since he miss manages talents ALOT (which a AC or literally any other coach on staff can do)

he hasn't shown improvement or being good or even decent at every other aspect of coaching

#56
cirruss

Frags
+

termi has never had a year that could really be considered bad either. at worst i feel like he has had mid years (2024)
i think the biggest thing about him is drx have always had a tendency to just fall apart in certain games with him in charge. but that's about it
his teams usually have solid macro and he's been one of the most innovative coaches in the game since it came out, and still is today
imo he's done enough to stay but admittedly not hitting a trophy winning ceiling in over 5 years is not a good look

Joshrt, alecks, Bonkar, maybe potter, and definitely mini #1 as of right now

#19

im not rating bonkar because he's had one roster(i guess two. i forgot about OXG), and i want to wait and see if it's not just a one or two off

valid, but from what I’ve seen and heard from himself and the Nrg players last year a lot of their winning and mental was because of Bonkar

#25
catNmouse
0
Frags

he won a trophy with a disastrous NRG team and ethan as the IGL which says enough

his own team also praises him for the effort he puts into making the team excel

#30

he’s done well but definitely some recency bias here. give him time in tier 1 to see how he does, but imo he’s a top 3 coach right Now

disastrous? if you handed me a piece of paper and told me Brawk, s0m, mada, ethan, and one of my favorite players(even though 3/5 players are in my top 20 favs) skuba were on the same team, i would say "well duh they could win champs". im more surprised that fns and bonkar were unable to create crazy strats imo

#40
catNmouse
0
Frags
+

not even they believed they could win a trophy until champs playoffs

brawk s0m mada and ethan were flopping in stage 1 and after fns was dropped, skuba was picked up and ethan took over the IGL role and we all know how that went in 2024

if he can somehow win santiago or make a deep run as the only team to not play double duelist at masters then he’s the goat

what does nbs have? im not trying to sound rude, just asking

he only has acend and then now 100t and 100t is still unproven whether they'll do good this year

#27
asunaluvr

winning champs with a VERY mid roster. he suffered from having shit players and bad investments on acend. and he transformed a mid ass tsm team into an ascension challenger. and the script says 100T win champs this year and he will become the first two time champs winning coach

#32
Lucrix
1
Frags

maybe im just blinded by nostalgia, but i remember the acend roster being VERY good at its peak. i stopped following acend after they didn't make partnership/fell off in 2022, and i didn't watch much of challengers, but i'll give you it because i do remember tsm being one of the top contenders. if 100t win, i'll give it to you

GUYS I JUST REALIZED

I completely forgot about frost. What do you guys think about frost? I feel like he is a really good coach, but hasn't been able to have that last piece he needs to become one of the best

i almost see him like termi because he's really good at building teams imo

if we are taking talent t0rmid had the entirety of KR val at his finger tips being the 1# KR team in val since drx joined val to 23-24 and possibly 2025 from the looks of who got the best talents T1 just bought the number 1 for each role KR talents with there lol money doesnt count lowk

even then he at worst was the 2nd/3rd best KR team that is still enough talent to feed generations

Sliggy isn't in the convo bc his short tenure but teams still use his strats/lineups/etc from 2020-2022 it's insane the impact he left despite being in the game such a short time.

alecks popularized the W gaming style that was part of their identity for multiple seasons and metas, he’s made it work for multiple internationals with many deep runs, yes prx has good players but if you were to try that aggressive playstyle in any other meta under a different coach while having better player quality then they would most likely flop. not to mention he’s great with making comfortable environments
