Personally I would go with alfajer, I think hes gone from strength to strength from Surreal to FNC
hes been performing consistently throughout the year whilst playing against tougher and tougher opponents

I'd say Bang tbh.
He always had latent potential but TSM kind of ruined his credibility and people wrote him off when 100T signed him.
Fast forward a top-twelve Champions appearance via LCQ and an offseason tournament win, people now regard him as the top NA Controller.

but whenever i saw him in t2 tournaments with b0i and the other bbg players i always thought he was still a good flex player
i didnt think he would be this good obv but he always had good performances in the t2 scene
Bang has had a quite meteoric rise this year. from failing to qual for S1 challengers with bbg to qualifying to champions through lcq and taking down c9 at redbull home ground
i think most improved this year has to be mindfreak, he used to be really mid in '21 but now hes arguably top 1 controller in apac league (only competition imo being MaKo from DR ekis ekis)
Most improved: Bang and maybe Will? Will had a fantastic Champs, but was always considered the worst player on 100T.
Fallen off the most: Yacine

Shao was insane last year as well. He has always been. At least Ardiis fell off pretty hard considering his G2 days and proved everyone wrong this year. While Suygetsu was pretty mid player in forZe to my memory.

they just werent that successful yet
I mean FPX were top EU team early 2021 and most expected them to make it to Masters 2 Reykjavik and even win it, but then something went wrong and they became a meme team for rest of 2021. They were playing weird comps etc.
Suy wasn't mid himself, his team was mid, they had 2 good players, him and zeddy, so obviously they weren't good enough to be tier 1.

He was. He was literally the star of Guild and even at one point was considered as arguably the best controller player in EMEA. He was flexible as fuck and really good. Good amount of people were expecting him to take the duelist role on Guild 2022 because of how good he was, but he stick with initiator role.

Pancada went from unknown outside of Brazil to the MVP of the biggest tournament all year, it has to be him. Plenty of other guys have been great but Cryo and Alfajer are IMO the only two who could compete with Pancada.
Bang, suygetsu, mindfreak but how are people forgetting about ardiis lol? People were like why the fuck is fpx signing this washed noob named ardiis. Infact, he performance was subpar compared to the best emea jetts like sayf and the russian jetts. Easily the most improved duelist/chamber.

True, but cant blame ardiis. He can farm bots in NA in arguably the best support system there. The choice wasnt tough at all, play in the most competitive and hardest region or farm free NA bots with no competition.
Most improved: Cryocells, bro went from playing kinda inconsistently on teams like SoaR and PUGSTARS last year to playing like a superstar on LAN with XSET and now franchised on 100T.
Most Fallen Off: Surf, bro started off this year looking like one of the best Opers in the world and ended it looking like a bot. (only including VCT games for these stats btw)
