OW2 will hurt Valorant in the long term

Valorant was known as the casual game to play with friends

If your friends circle had a lot of asians in it, you would know league got replaced with valorant and everyone was playing that shit

When OW first came out people didnt play it as much because it was 60 usd, now its f2p and will def hurt val playerbase in the long run by being a competitor in this target demographic that used to play league, val, and now ow

And Im gonna be honest, OW is flat out more fun than valo atm, riot needs to add more casual gamemodes or something because its getting boring

A lot more gamers than when OW was originally released. It’ll steady out eventually, not to mention reviving the pro scene will be a fun sight to watch (as it probably won’t happen). I didn’t even have a PC when overwatch released

I don't think it will, OW2 is just new right now so everyone is happy to play around it for awhile, plus the fact that it's now f2p. Valorant has new stuff coming in the new year with gamemodes and stuff. It's a game thats super easy for new players to get involved and even those who want to take the game more competitively. I think OW2 just has all the hype around it right now which is fair, but I dont see it even remotely effecting Valorant in the long run.

As someone who has 1000 hours on overwatch that shit gets boring fast
its only fun to quick play with friends the arcade and custom games become boring after about 50 hours
and overwatch probably has the worst competitive matchmaking system ever implemented in any game
and the community is just flat out awful human beings

There's literally 3 different roles. I don't think they could have made it clearer. Those who have less hp do more damage, healers regenerate health very quickly, and tanks are called tanks for a reason, because they can tank damage.

I have found myself playing it more. Valorant definitely needs a more casual mode that ends within like 15-20 mins. Not an unrated that takes 35 mins of stomping or gettings stomped and ofc the gruelling ranked games. Infact, esp during my igcses this year, I had a very tough time playing this game. Just cant get myself to play this game for too and just lose braincells. OW2 is definitely a better option for me, esp when I just wanna play casually. Quick games, and you still get the full expereince. Also it has the option to fucking leave and not be banned!
TLDR; Valorant needs a shorter unrated. End of story.

Also, personally I have completely quit soloq in valorant, and only play with friends as I find it more enjoyable. However as days are passing by, our schedules are getting further apart and we dont play as often, I mean we do meet and all but just can't justify spending 3 hours of online gaming, even the most hardcore gamers in my friend group.

if riot adds more fun game modes like esc , spike rush , repli it will be fine
ow2 gets boring after 3-4 games and in 2 - 4 weeks people will firgure out meta , smurfs will start playing and overall the exp for a casual gamer will just be not fun cuz they will be getting dived on by a monkey tracer lucio genji

The thing is OW is new right now and everyone is playing it for that reason, because something new is out. The question is how long will OW2 last before they either fuck it up because blizzard is best known for that or for how long do people just get over the new feeling and return to valorant where they were grinding for 2 years now.

one thing that fucks up your argument, is how for newcomers overwatch is frustrangly pointless to play, like if you dont outright understand the game you fell like you have no impact, newcomers dont really have a simple short term objective. if you arent playing a dps agent your bullets feel like confetti, in valorant your small objective uis get a kill, which is much easier to accomplish and feel rewarded by it since you can switch weapons (Judges are a noobs best friend)
