For someone who didn’t see TenZ play in his prime, was he really that good?
I see people putting him in the GOAT lists, like top 5 or even top 3.
Some even rank him above Aspas, Nats, Chronicle…
Is that an illogical take or a valid one?

99% of people from 21 reykjavik are either retired, t2 or lower, or are collecting minimum paychecks to play for bottom feeding t1 teams
yes i love derke, boaster, munchkin, lakia, mazino, saadhak etc. i hope tier 2 or retirement is doing them well.
i’m the one being ragebaited if you consider them nobodies
most of them have what g2 lacks. a trophy.
theres like max 5 players total from that tourney that r still playing t1 bruh
"carried to a ring in mickeydrid" gang he was the kobe to zekken's shaq tf is this bait 🥀🥀🥀🥀
when tenz comes back and leads team secret to a champs trophy he is top 5 minimum
Back in the days he was called Lebron james of valorant btw. I hope this answers your question.
eh pretty good. Again, crazy clips seem like he is shitting on them but you know if you drop Radiant on Bronze/Silver lobbies, they will put prime TenZ clips to shame
when he played he was so much better than everyone else.
he was probably not better than the top pros today, but he was so much better than the pros of his time.
he was the first player i ever saw that made me think "wow, i could never be that good"
Do you think if he were still playing today, he’d have the same level of spotlight he had back in the early competitive days?
Like, would he still be able to compete at the same skill level as other pros and actually stand out?
Its tenz the spotlight is attached to him of his stature only, but not as much as it was, just because the skill bar has risen pretty high since then.
He'll be considered avarage t1 player imo nothing to write home about.
no one remembers who used to play a lot with tenz and what happened to said person... its actually has such good ragebait potential. dumpster diving on twitter pre-sgares accusations produced results...
farmed during the plumber era, took him forever to realize he cant actually play entry duelist
his prime was literallty when no1 knew how the game works he just has a fanbase full of fangirls
The things he did might seem normal today but back then no one came close to his level
I mean 2024 showed us he was still good enough to compete and was one of the top players. It seemed more like his performance in 2022 and 2023 were because of Sen being stuck in the past and not getting a proper IGL or not getting a proper HC until 2023. As soon as he got both of those his performance got better before the Kyedae stuff happened.
Yeah, he didn't completely fall off, but what I meant was he was very obviously crumbling as the game's meta moved on and transitioned into more methodical play.
HE IS THE GOAT.
NOONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO BREAK HIS RECORD OF THE HIGHEST ACS IN A TOURNAMENT.
HE IS THE ONLY PLAYER TO HAVE A SUCCESSFUL COMEBACK.
TYSON 'TENZ' NGO
he was the clear best in 2021, but i think him coming back to form in 2024 on a different role and remain a top international player is super impressive and increases his ranking all time
He has the single highest individual performance at an international. Which Aspas breaking two kill records still couldn’t top. That and having 2 trophies on two entirely different rosters and on two different roles and roles he has to properly learn is what still give him the argument for being one of the best.
imo maybe he is not top 5 mechanically, but hes influence on the game is the best, like everyone knows tenz, he is actually the face of valorant, so ig this factor matters too
Tenz won 2 masters as the best player and 2nd best player. He's a legend, ppl on this site just hate him for some reason.
in 2021 everone was new so he farmed in 1st master but at 2024 he rehit his peak with diffrent role and he is you can say some what face of this game cause most of people think of tenz clip when they hear valorant top game play
Apparently he was pretty good on his 2021 time but I really don't consider that the since the first few tournaments of any new game is always filled with people clueless on what to do , but in Madrid and 2024 he was pretty damn good man ngl, I put him in my top 20 purely as he came back in 2024 to show that he can transition roles and play well again and that 2021 wasn't just because others were noobs
2021 he was the best player itw for 5-ish months fighting mostly complete randoms who never made it far after the year ended, then immediately after lost the best NA player title to yay when Masters Berlin started. 2022 he was good but nothing noteworthy, 2023 he was ass, 2024 he was great for the first 3 months then stayed good (not great) for the rest of the year.
id say he’s hands down the most overrated player in Valorant, honestly one of if not the most overrated player in modern esports from what I know so far, but it’s to be expected when he became the first big figure for the esport. His biggest success in his career was his content team.
GOAT discussion I wouldn’t even put him top 20 personally
tenz was the epitome of all aim no brain. When these guys started off and everyone was still learning the game alongside himself. those quick kills help make wins easy. Now that everyone has adapted and caught up with better team play, all aim is not going to always net you a dub in rounds and matches.
