For me it's Sleep Token, their music is just fuckin boring to me. They're a fusion of rap, pop and metal but they do all 3 elements incredibly generic and mid and they're music is like 50% ambience and buildup for a payoff that's realistically not hype/heavy enough to warrant it, and their vocalists voice is really grating/annoying to me

I like all sort of music but black metal just isn't for me. Same for trap metal or whatever (like some from Ghostmane etc). Pretty much anything death/black whatever genre. Just sounds depressing and shit.
Yeah but thats the reason why I don't like. I mean some are decent and its not like I couldn't enjoy it but some songs from those genres are some of the worst I've heard not only in terms of sound but also how they feel. Also those scenes are kinda fucked or at least have been like Mayhem lore.

Beyond the hurdle of getting used to the vocals, I think death metal is in the same kinda area as thrash where it's fast, technical, aggressive and energetic, which I fuckin love
Finland's metal scene is super cool and i've met plenty of nice people through it but i agree alot of BM is just blegh, with the exception of stuff like a couple darkthrone albums, ppl who I talk to about music are always so shocked when I'm not into black metal at all because I enjoy more "extreme" subgenres alot

Alot of BM has really really bad production to where i feel like i'm listening to an industrial noise set rather than metal, and ska is ska, just awful. aside from those i think most genres have good stuff within them if you look, I used to only listen to metal, post-rock and math rock and these days I listen to lots of pop, folk (especially chamber folk) and electronica. I still love metal and postrock and mathrock but the vibe has shifted
