I dont mean it's a good mindset, but it's pretty common to dislike domestic rivals more than international opponents. You don't necessarily have to root for a team based on nationality.
Hi I'm a zeta fan as well as a dfm fan, so I don't know if I'm applicable for the question. But anyways here is what I think about zeta fans hating dfm.
I think that the people you see that like zeta but hate dfm are probably the minority of the Japanese vct watchers or overseas viewers who aren't as invested in the Japanese valorant scene hence only support one team from Japan.
I think this because most Japanese vct watchers will support either team (zeta and dfm) if they make it to an international event, as the teams are from their own country.
In my opinion dfm looks better than zeta with their current run, but I think it's too early to draw conclusions as we haven't seen zeta play that much. I'll be supporting both teams anyways going into next year because they're both Japanese teams though.

I used to be a PRX fan until they did Monyet Dirty and then what their fan did during flashback drama was the last nail in the coffin which made me realise that I don't want to be associated with them. So their downfall is well deserved.
What did their fans do in that Drama? Kinda curious here since I don't follow up on that sh1t
A girl accuses flashback of rap3/s3xual battery. PRX fangirls including Ilya's gf blasted on Twitter for DRX to drop flashback. Yet the victim apparently lied in some cases since her information doesn't align and is borderline exaggerated. After drx investigation with the victim and flashback, they found that there was no foul play and well within the law since both did consent to intercourse. Then DRX stated that they would sue people who spread the misinformation. The original translator ended and prx fangirls up deleting everything and pretending that what they did was right. It was days before champs so some say it could've affected drx. So it ended up becoming a guilty until proven innocent case
