They actually cooked though, iirc fpx realised PRX left B weak so they kept hitting it, and PRX took too long to counter that. But before that they were doing fine. And the failed Breach Odin spam through A middle door hurts man

But there should still be responsibility from Riot's side, because they are the ones who vet these orgs, yet somehow we keep having orgs that keep running into financial issues.

Newcomers probably won't be watching Code Geass and Gurren Lagan as one of their first 5 anime in this day and age

Wrong. Patitek doesn't win clutches when needed, Patmen does. I don't make the rules.

For the first point, I kind of agree with you just because the teams that won champs seem to just fade away the next year. NOT TAKING AWAY the effort and capabilities of the players/coach, but it's like they just win the biggest tournament of the year and say my job's done, though I do understand sometimes the situation is out of their control.

Acend 2021 - Only followed VCT in 22 so can't say much. Loud was still consistent with Aspas in 23 after Champs 22, and in champs 23 knocked out FNC by beating them twice and placing 3rd. EG just disbanded after their Cinderella run in 23. EDG at least showed up in Bangkok, but they crumbled hard afterwards with the s1mon drama, and was knocked out first in champs this year.

Let's see how well NRG will play next year - or if their players get poached and they too fall to the champs curse.

Meanwhile we have other teams that consistently play in internationals like FNC, TH, PRX, DRX, and maybe G2 and SEN (although people can say AMER is a farmer region) choking when it matters most and not being able to lift the champs trophy.

New TH tbh

posted 2 months ago

FNS was the ultimate winner, both teams he support lifted trophies this year. Huge congrats to NRG for lifting the trophy, well deserved with their undefeated Champs run

posted 2 months ago

That 11-1 comeback to make it a 3-0 to 3-2, and it was unlucky that FNC choked like TH last year. 2 Grand Finals, unable to clinch them twice.

posted 2 months ago

They might just be the greatest after spanking FNC which spanked our entire region's butt....

posted 2 months ago

NRG might not have made it this far with Verno - look at it the other way, FNS did all that to sendibr led by Verno + a strong NRG into playoffs. One last FNS masterclass.

posted 2 months ago

The pink Toronto trophy matched their jersey and they saw it and locked tf in.

posted 2 months ago

Maybe, just maybe, Panda really helped with mental for the team in the coaching booth. That said, now that PRX finally lifted a trophy I feel like I'm just here to see them play with no expectations anymore (I mean sure who don't want their favourite team to lift another trophy, but I won't be as heartbroken as previous years anymore)

They're the team that gives the highest of highs and lowest of lows, we go again next year.

posted 2 months ago

DRX is back into top 3 since 2022, but this time they really look so good. Gonna be exciting rematch against FNC in BO5 for sure tomorrow

posted 2 months ago

Nah honestly at this point let them win, FNS will be cemented as the greatest IGL for doing absolutely nothing but still let NRG lift a trophy and Ethan being the first player to win 2 champs

posted 2 months ago

Not really though, I think it's more 50/50. TH beat GX in Playoffs, T1 beat DRX in Bangkok etc.

And this DRX swapped Estrella for Beyn which improved the team by a lot. So I believe it'll be a coin flip.

Honestly how I got out of Iron way back was to just play Yoru and flash everybody on the server besides myself and run it down with a Spectre. Don't need crosshair placement when you can run and gun people who are full blinded. But unfortunately I couldn't do that to get out of Bronze and needed people to carry me to silver.

posted 2 months ago

Taking FNC and TH games into account, for me:

Lotus, Bind - good maps but shown to be loseable

Ascent, Haven - okay in my books

Corrode - didn't look convincing

Sunset - DRX and NRG are probably willing to let it through, though FNC is confirmed gonna ban it

Abyss - Unknown and the remaining teams all can play Abyss well, so it's either them getting wrecked, or they pull a one and done comp

Respectfully please don't thank you.

Damn...RX classico so deep into the champs run but its a fight for third place.

We are grateful to even win today

Yo you might be onto something here

posted 2 months ago

Somehow it's always Ascent???

posted 2 months ago

If mibr bomb out rn even if prx wins the whole thing the curse doesn't hold, because it's that the 2 teams that beat TH gets 1st and 3rd.

Have you seen the amount of comments going for Boaster's head when he performed poorly in Masters Toronto GF, where the haters didn't acknowledge he was/is the brain of Fnatic that got them to be such a consistently good team in the first place

posted 2 months ago

It's him all along...

posted 2 months ago

They played too passive on defense and didn't want to over rotate until it was too late, Patmen kept trying to anchor A. Then on attack they just fake one site and quickly rotate and just try to rush a hit. That one round where Jinggg didn't smoke A link when they planted on B and instead smoked himself was criminal....

Agree with loud fan above

posted 2 months ago

You know what, I respect the dedication now that you wrote everything out. I would like to have some counter point that it wasn't always like this for Val, and different regions have different productions. Look at Pacific stage 2 grand finals and China stage 2, with massive crowds /filled up venues and dare I say pretty cool production. EMEA is the only one that had horrible PCs that warranted enough pro players calling out to take time to replace them. And now it's Paris and it's under the shitty EMEA production

posted 2 months ago

Do you not know about sliggy's curse. The moment he says a round is unloseable it loses. The moment he says the player gets 3 he gets 0.

posted 2 months ago

You keep writing this 1 kill 1 assist like a broken record when you haven't even make a good argument against my points of weak mental and having bad games being normal for players. You're just tunneling into your own point for one half out of a BO3 and repeating it without any other good arguments to make. Grow up dude.

And for Jemkin, at least he made 2 internationals on a tier 1 team because people believed in him despite his lows, and he did show up in regionals lifting a Pacific trophy, beating teams like PRX and GenG in the process, even if he does shit the bed in internationals.

posted 2 months ago

There was a round on B I believe it was a 4v4 or 5v5 and he just sent it for no reason and got caught. They could just play site so he could be traded.

I'm defending a bad half because that is not the norm for him. And it has something to do with the strats as well. Their positioning was horrible with gaps that leaf was able to capitalise on so often. You are flaming a person for having a BAD HALF on ONE map.

If everybody was like you, nobody would have picked up Jemkin after he got 0 kills against Bleed in Ascension 2023 on ONE WHOLE MAP.

posted 2 months ago

Weak mindset is crumbling under pressure when you under perform. Patmen was still trying his best all the way until the end.

If you want to talk about him causing PRX to almost lose because he underperformed, we can also say forsaken threw so many rounds with his ult to CT spawn on Corrode and getting wrecked every time. We can also say leaf was the one making the Ascent game close. Without him PRX might have steamrolled the map. There's always 2 sides.

This is a team game, there are days where some players underperform individually, there are days were some guy goes nuclear and hard carry. That's how the game goes. Take a chill pill dude.

posted 2 months ago

Look, I get it, it looks unfair that PRX have mini, but this doesn't magically turn them into gods. Mini is mostly helping with vod reviews, and they aren't shitting on the other teams. PRX still lost against GX on Ascent, and this 3 mapper against G2 was still down to the line. Even in Toronto with mini's help they lost to GenG and almost choked to TL. That's how good the other teams are. If you want to talk about unfair advantages, I remember seeing a video somewhere that demon1 chugged loads of redbull/caffeine for Champs 2023 GF, are we supposed to ban these now/get blood work done for the games?

And screw off with your comparisons to CS, that was irrelevant. I've played CS before last time, I've went to a Blast upper finals because I had a free ticket from a friend, and the crowd/venue was insane, yes, but it was comparable to Masters Bangkok upper finals and GF. And don't get me started on the gameplay. It was mostly early molly and smoke lineups, spraying through smoke and holding angles for a good while before just pushing sites. Literally EMEA Val gameplay. The sponsor at the arena was a gambling site (tell me how that is a better sponsor) and you are the only person trying to justify why CS is better with all these reasons, when so many other people literally say CS is better than Valorant because their CS skins can earn them money. That is so miserable when a game is not better because it is more fun but because it allows you to earn money.

If you can't stand Val, nobody is stopping you from going back to CS and just leaving us alone. Go ahead, do that, instead of writing an essay comparing the 2 games over something else.

2 13-11 and 1 15-13 is insane and it's like insane brawls between both teams

posted 2 months ago

This could have been a grand finals.....

posted 2 months ago

It was so confusing both teams were playing so fast

posted 2 months ago

PRX somehow kept winning 3v5s, they cut noise, rotated after faking pressure etc...honestly they were playing like G2 and G2 was playing like PRX

posted 2 months ago

Cost the game*

posted 2 months ago

Damn both teams doing good strats and shooting, really living up to the hype (for now)

posted 2 months ago

Wait you really think so? Like I can see why people find PRX toxic, the stuff something says in the replays can be quite crazy after rounds won, but G2 and FNC also have these trashtalks on stage no? Especially the recent G2 vs T1 and FNC vs RRQ games. Valyn was just shitting on T1 in game and on stage.

PRX don't go around shitting other teams post game, everything just stays on stage, whereas Boostio openly declared China will never be better than NA.

I mean they can both get eliminated, just different placement.

Sliggy for real time analysis+ real time jinx. The amount time his curse immediately activates as soon as the words leave his mouth is crazy.

something wont tilt like these t1 players

autumn: guys ok they wont expect this so lets dry push out 1 by 1 through smoke

posted 2 months ago

Honestly same, I was just explaining the reason why people see them as favourites. For me I'm also scared they might just have a bit of off day and just bomb out like that. Definitely low chance, but doesn't mean no chance ya know, especially when the other champs teams going into playoffs do look really good as well.

posted 2 months ago

Because they have been winning a lot and looked consistent since Toronto. They beat good teams like G2 and Fnatic to win Toronto, and they were dominating Pacific in stage 2 for the most part to come into champs as the first seed.

But like you mentioned, their map pool for this Champs has a huge question mark compared to Toronto.
