- Hold my liquor - Ye
- Figaro - MF DOOM
- No Role Modelz - J cole
i can see that, iconic beat, the world is yours is just hip hop condensed into a song imo
imo there are a lot of rap songs better than lose yourself but im not a big eminem fan.
sick ranting the same shit again and again on his stream is much better than all this.
I am not a huge fan of rap or knowledgeable about the scene so genuine question isn't Eminem considered Greatest rapper of all time right up there with biggie and tupac so why isn't his best songs like mockingbird and lose urself here?
the top artists do not always have the best song. and imo the top 3 rap artists are kanye, kendrick lamar, and tupac. personally i think eminem is a bit overrated.
he is top 5 for sure. i personally wouldnt have him in my top 5 but out of respect for most peoples opinion i have him high. i am just not a fan myself
usually (including myself) no rap fans usually have a softspot for eminem
maybe thats why it should be ranked so high, i think its very universally catchy and well reviewed, i could never listen kanye west for eg. i dont even get the hype around it
i just listened ur first pick (hold my liquor) and i didnt even like it even remotely
same example, im a grunge fan, and i never would put Nirvana that high myself either
understandable. music is subjective and i am a big fan of kanye. his music crosses so many genres and he has so many different sounds. thats why i like him so much. a lot of people that i know share the same opinion as me. probably a biproduct of growing up in chicago
i think it might be a very USA opinion also, i would say in Europe or other places in world ppl would favor Eminem more
Yeah the nirvana comparison cleared a little bit for me but nirvana are forefathers of grunge. But Eminem isn't so there I'd still a difference. But yeah I would say soundgarden or Alice in chains are better than nirvana. But ppl still consider smells like teen spirit as one of the best grunge if not Rock songs ever(even though massively overplayed)
I would say still where Nirvana is for grunge is close to where Eminem is for rap (especially for an outsider of both genres). I agree that Eminem is not the founder of genre or anything but still very significantly important.
Def, as a massive grunge fan myself, I dont fancy either of these bands (I listen Nirvana sometimes tho, but not Soundgarden or AIC), and i would favor Silverchair, Bush, or even Pearl Jam over them personally.
you could argue top 10 but hes FAR FAR FAR away from the greatest of all time
the only valid list, but then again ye's discog is so good there are 2 more albums which can compete for that 3rd spot
imo he has the best discography of any artist in any genre all time. just ignore donda 2
its a short album.
but every song is amazing.
big fan of the production style on the record.
themes are interesting and complex.
070 shake was just perfect on the back half.
probably slight bias because i rate ghost town so highly, its like the perfect song to me.
low points are probably yikes/all mine but they are still good.
yeah im not saying its bad, because it isnt. ive just never seen anyone have it as ye's #1 album. ghost town and violent crimes are very high rated kanye songs for me
yeah ghost town is amazing, the album is amazing but i agree i havent seen that many people put ye as #1
I really like NF's songs->
