VCT itself is just boring now, I used to follow every game in every region and type here pretty actively about teams and such. but since the franchising era, the scene became more and more boring with each passing year. Biggest issue the lack of 3rd party tournaments, international rivalries and storylines are so rare. Also I think there are little to no underdog stories (other than Ascension teams which most are short-lived stories) because bottom tier VCT orgs are just happy to be there because they get paid by doing nothing and have no passion to compete. Every year it's the same 2-3 orgs and mostly the same players competing for the trophy at Champions. for EU, it was already dying but going trophyless in the last 3 years also had a big impact
