Back in early May, Cloud9 announced that v1c informed the organization of his intention to take a break from competing for personal reasons. Cloud9's Controller played with ADG for about a month until the team failed to make it out of the NA Challengers Stage 3 Swiss Stage, shutting the door on a potential appearance at the Americas Stage 2 Play-Ins.

v1c would later state to Cloud9 that his desire to compete at a Tier 1 level had returned during his VCL run. Consequently, the organization made the “difficult but necessary” decision to bring its former player back into the starting lineup to help the team progress and “accelerate [its] rookies' development.”

"I always felt a bit of guilt abandoning the team during Stage 1," v1c wrote on X. "So it felt like this was a great opportunity to finish out the year strong and do right by the C9 fans and my teammates."

Notexxd now finds himself in an undesirable position. Just two months ago he left behind QoR – a team that was performing well within the VCL – to make his rookie debut on the Tier 1 stage.

Now teamless, Notexxd's options are limited so late in the season. Many Americas teams have locked in their rosters with Stage 2 less than a week away.
