i think it’s just kind of a logistics thing. Since these rosters cannot ascend, making the majority of teams fully academy rosters means less orgs with an incentive to ascend and it would cause a TGRD issue if that team did get to ascension and win because they’d be having an org buy out the team as a whole. It’s stupid but in riots eyes i guess it kinda makes sense. It’s probably why like Loud doesn’t have an official academy roster same with Kru who just are affiliated with Oxen

Xross is their sixth man but i think that since there’s already 3 academy rosters in the league it would be tooo much since they need teams that can actually ascend which is why FearX(old Liiv Sandbox) owns them now

I think it’s complicated, but the difference between retard and the mentioned examples is the current societal connotation. Retard is significantly more harsh and scathing than stupid or dumb were; usually being specifically directed towards people with mental disabilities. Personally, I don’t use the word often despite being on the spectrum because it feels weird to say in general and makes me uncomfortable, but I also don’t despise people who do say it, as it’s a relatively ingrained part of vernacular which will take a while to fizzle out. the gist is though you should avoid saying it if possible because of the connotation and there are just better words to describe the situation, there’s just no actual need to say the word when there’s much more societally appropriate words out there.
