No offense to com

def overpaid considering their current financial situation, but you can't really "overpay" for a championship player

just because you win a championship dosent means you're a top tier player worth 20k.

Idk about this take tbh. Winning a championship means more than just being good enough to win it.

winning a championship = a Team performance. They worked very well as a team but theres actually people on this site saying com is a top 5 recon now be cause he won a championship. Like Cam newton said theres Game Changers and Theres Game Managers.

com is just a game manager.

What I meant to convey was that you don't have to be a top player to be worth 20k. Winning the Championship raises your status to the point where just having you on the team would boost the entire orgs reputation. It's like you're a walking advertisement. Winning Championships doesn't make your org stable but it helps make yourself stable by building up a fanbase. Look at Tenz, he's great, and he's got such a massive fanbase that whichever team has him is bound to get a huge boost in revenue. That aspect of being "famous" for winning/being good is what makes a player worth so much more than they might actually be.

Idk if that makes sense.

how? they won a championsship and now what... that money does not even compensate a fraction of the money EG spent on salaries... Its honestly concerning where EG gets all this money from, has to be some money laundering shit

#11

Prize pool and money earned from bundle EASILY compensates for the roster

Idk about the bundle money but they made 1'250'000 earnings this year, split up to 6 its 200k for each player/coach approx

They paid 20k per month so that adds up to 240k for each player (already more than earnings)
And they had 10 players, not 5. So that adds up to 2'400'000 just for the players
And the money for GC? Money for Coach? (probably a shit fucking ton because what she did is truly insane)

Where the fuck are they taking this money from? They dont even have any social media income like Sentinels, Their Youtube page had like 50 subscribers during the americas league, they had one content creator (stewie2k) and he left before the season had even begun

The only explanation i have is that Wolfes is feeding them millions of dollars every year

Well, Wolves isn't investing in EG anymore so say farewell to that revenue...

The bundle earned roughly 40 million

That’s 50% for the teams so 20 mill.

That’s roughly 1.5 million per team at champs.

They generated at least 2.5 million in revenue.

Crazy to think that’s not enough.

It really isn’t worth it to be in e sports if the best players in the world can’t make 6 figures.

Ok the math is mathing.

But EG already were paying 20k in the debut, while EG was the laughing stock of americas. Relying on earnings and bundle money is extremely unsustainable and risky, and if i were in EG management at the time of LOCK//IN & Americas League, i would DRASTICALLY decrease the income of the players. EG did not know beforehand that they would win champions, let alone qualify for it for the bundle money.

only a fraction of that goes to the ORG, do people still think ORGs get prize money?

https://esportsadvocate.net/2023/08/valorant-champions-bundle-40m/

“Riot already disclosed a huge revenue boon for teams that participated in this year’s final event. The Valorant Champions 2023 bundle, which consists of in-game decorations for various items and effects, raised over $20 million in revenue share for those teams, earning them $1.25 million apiece.“

Now I don’t know what player contracts look like, but I find it hard to believe that they make 200k a year and take a huge cut from the bundle. Unless the orgs are actually that dumb….

I thought I heard somewhere that EG tried to cut their players salary this year with the promise of a larger share of the skin revenue but the players didn’t want the deal.

i said prize money, usually the ORG gets like 10-18% depending on the split, but its usually 14% 6x rest to ORG

now for the bundle money i dont know, im also speaking for NA teams, SA teams and Asian teams usually take 100% and even take a large ammount of prize money, but for the bundle in NA im guessing its 50/50 for the team and the ORG

they had 10 10-man roster while paying him 20k + c0m was not on this level pre playoffs so it was overpay. It is just that it worked out fine with him stepping up and EG winning champs

Good God, he'd have earned 240k in 12 months assuming there was no increase throughout the year. Now imagine the bigger names in NA 💀, IDK about other Regions. Hopefully they don't get fucked over like Wardell's savings

... that's still 140k. Why does it cost so much to live in America if that's the wage you need to survive there??? Makes no sense to me. Even if its only LA, surely it shouldn't cost that much.

You think T1 Valorant players are working for “enough to survive”

They make money money bro. You can survive on like 30k if you’re just trying to live

#41

Yes but average national salary in America is 54k before taxes. Earning almost 5 times that working for an esports org playing valorant seems like way too much.
