Viewership

I really hope future matches can get more viewers bcos this is pathetic.. honestly riot needs to do SOMETHING because franchising alone is not gonna fix it. Take some notes from CS, a game that has been a staple in the esports scene for over a decade? ❌❌ nope(its what I’m envious about from CS because they have it so good over there) Riot just wants to be different for absolutely no reason.

Bro ppl act like valorant is dfan base when it tops and compete with other shooters regularly. csgo apart from being fun to watch competitive is pretty much dead with the casual fanbase.

imagine an org paying a mil a year, grinding for months to get to the main stage, just to get less viewers than the big teams did during qualifier LMAO

getting views (and exposure) is how org justify their investment, people should rightly so worried about viewrship because it is showing how healthy the future of the esports will be

no almost all orgs run on losses no matter who you count. the viewership doesnt make any difference.

Views don't bring profit to organizations lmfao

Views bring sponsors, sponsors make up for losses spent on team development and salaries

Mfs out here jerking off to views like it's something that matters so much - if a team has no partners who provide them with finances, it doesn't matter how many views they get

#64
X_ae_A_12

Ok so explain overwatch. That game died because of viewership + shitty patches. The sponsors where abundant and secure orgs were in that scene.

Doesn't mean we should be so obsessed about it

People give the impression that they won't watch a certain esport just because that esport doesn't accumulate a lot of views

Views do not justify a million dollar investment lol. Whatever you smoking stop it. If that’s the case CSGO should be filled with orgs from NA, Asia & SA lol. Cuz you know… Views

Bro only looks at the main channel and assumes those are the total views. There's the Japan channel with 45k and I also excluded Tarik and many other watch parties which takes the numbers to the hundreds of thousands. Also pipe the fuck down about views if you care so much about views go back to csgo and hltv please no one wants you here.

For an opening game it’s not actually that bad, if you combine YT and twitch and the Japanese and English stream, it’s >180k, and I’m not including the English co streams

True tbh, we have high standards for them, but I can only assume it’s bc NTH isn’t as big as Zeta, maybe the Apex tournament and the time that it airs in Japan on takes priority, but I’m sure their decider games in groups will see higher viewer counts

#89

This is not csgo dude, every region has a valorant channel and even watch parties, valorant numbers are actually pretty fucking good right now, csgo numbers looks more impressive because theres only 3 big channels who stream the games, like the ESL channel, gaules and CIS streams then the viwership looks bigger because they centralize the numbers.

I think viewership does matter for the Esport. More viewers, more sponsors interested, more money invested, larger price pool, better production and better overall viewing experience

Not saying Valorant's gonna die as an esport but higher viewership will keep it alive for longer

The entire NA qualifier had a peak of 200k, and way less average.

Day 1 of Copenhagen had 438k peak and 300k Avg.
This is already more than IEM Cologne which has 330k peak and 186k avg.

It has been updated and Nope, Day 1 of Valorant masters CPH still beats both avg and peak of IEM cologne.
Kinda sad since Furia, 00nation sprout and imperail have been eliminated. No more views from Gaules, it's that easy to see.

#98

Obviously brazil is huge part of csgo history. So less views if no Brazilian teams. But if without sen look at valo views and if Brazilian/japan/kru eliminate then less views as well. Also, Top3 games out of the top 5 have navi and not Brazilian teams. So.

Well, its updated now and still Day 1 of Copenhagen beats the playins and groupstage of IEM Cologne.
