Truth hurts. NS just got a lucky read on the meta (congrats to them for that), now teams know how to play, everyone will know how to anti strat better

You've seen this with literally every 1st masters winners, SEN and T1. It'll be the same but you guys aren't ready for that conversation yet

(maruchan clears btw)

We said this for literally every team they went up against

#17

Exactly, even by the end of the tournament nobody had the answer to stopping them. Hell, most teams couldn’t even slow them down

#40
cameran

fair enough

#10
noahkraken

Frags

Getting a good read on the meta isn’t lucky, it’s good coaching and experimenting. Antistratting also isn’t something that most teams are that good at either.

#18
cameran
0
Frags
+

Yeah but with time is what allows for teams to successfully anti-strat. People said last year about t1 that their double duelist was too OP then they eventually got anti strated by stage 1. I believe the same will happen again, and it's just common for this to happen. Someone will figure it out

#20
noahkraken
2
Frags
+

Idk, it’s not rare for tournament winners to follow it up with another strong performance. EDG and NRG both got 3rd at the event following their champs wins, including beating multiple of the same teams they already faced. Even PRX won APAC and got 4th at champs with everyone knowing their playstyle.

If you’re an excellent team who can antistrat opponents well then it doesn’t really matter if other teams have tape on you. The best teams just keep adapting.

#23
cameran
0
Frags
+

thats true

#21
catNmouse
-7
Frags
+

They barely won bangkok bro

#24
cameran
0
Frags
+

Yeah but that still doesn't mean their double duelist strat wasn't OP. Everyone after T1 won kept saying how their way of playing was annoying, hard to counter, too good, etc. Even I myself by stage 1 thought they would dominate more, but then teams still continued to counter them. Anything early on may seem good, but as the season goes on is where someone like NS could really struggle, especially with their early fights they constantly take

#28
catNmouse
-7
Frags
+

you can say that about literally every team, why does it have to be exclusive to NS just because they’re a relatively newer team?

#29
cameran
0
Frags
+

I only said that to nongshim because they were the ones who found success with an aggressive playstyle. Like I have been saying, I just believe that their aggressive playstyle will start to get punished later on. If it doesn't then I'm glad they proved me wrong but it's just way too common for this to happen early on in the season

I also wouldn't say this for any team because not everyone's strats works. NS just knew how to develop a good gameplan.

#31
catNmouse
-7
Frags

the whole meta is about being aggressive and its going to stay that way for a while

#42

Their playstyle will not get punished. Their playstyle is the most oppressive valorant you can play.

NS abuses everything that is broken in the game. Neon, Waylay, Yoru with OP, Outlaw, judge, Pocket judge (shorty) Xross. I don't think they used the odin. Atleast not in GF

Almost every team tries to abuse these things as well, but NS does all of it at the same time and leans heavily into it way more than any other team.

When a team that's playing around abusing what's broken in the game, also has people that are really good with these broken things, and they are all on fire, they win trophies. We saw this with NRG in champs with Brawk Odin, and we saw this with NS this time.

Unless Riot does something about it, which they wont. The team that wins next masters will not be the one that anti's NS's playstyle, but adopts it and improves on it.

Well said then, fair enough

It could be called Fluke when Sen and t1 won.
Nongshim, however, won the championship with overwhelming performance and leads the meta, and the strength of each individual and team is different.

#30
cameran
0
Frags
+

I wouldn't really call any team's win a fluke. Yes SEN and T1 fell off, but I've just been saying, that it's because of good anti-strats coming from teams who studied them for stage 1. If a team was truly bad before they wouldn't had won, but SEN and T1 did because they had good gameplans at the start of the season, and got countered hard later on

You got a good point for nongshim, but that still doesn't mean a team will never figure out how to counter them. Such as Fnatic in 2023, won dominantly in tokyo as well, then started to get punished by champs (of course by no means was FNC's 4th place bad, but definitely lower than what most expected). Though of course that is an entirely different story, and if Nongshim continue to show their dominance then I'll be happy to get proven wrong anyways

#37

As you said, if the meta changes, they may fall, and NS will up-down with PRX RRQ DRX T1.

have these eyes, so Japanese team is down there..

Everyone is discussing comparing to 23fnc and you are alone comparing to sen and t1..

Ns has a completely different winning process from t1 or Sen.

NS is just the strongest team in the world at the moment.

#43
cameran
0
Frags
+

you're missing my point though. im just saying how SEN's and T1's styles of winning were still very good at that time, SEN got away with a playing style that would've gotten them punished later on in the season. Same thing can happen with NS. People also said SEN would be the strongest team, and look at where they ended by stage 1 (alongside t1)

By no means am I shit talking NS at all, and maybe my comparisons are very different, but still

#47
korean2
-1
Frags
+

The point is that you are missing yourself.
It's based on the resemblance between Sen and t1 playstyle, but it's totally different. If it's based on that, you should mention PRX

you compare T1 and Sen to NS, you're completely wrong.
Everything.
Situations, play styles, aura at the time of winning masters

#48

nah. dambi isn't just neon merchant, its just that he's the best player in the world on it. yoru nerfs will hit everyone the same. ns players are all good and can adapt. if anything, itll be like another PRX typa situation where after they win, they'll remain top of the region, qual to internatinoals, and maybe a few GFs. winning another event has so many factors, you can't predict it.

I do think if Neon is nerfed or there's a massive meta shift that they will probably become mid, it's what happened to them after they first won ascension. But it doesn't look like that will happen soon, so I think they'll be fine for now
