I do not think that EWC will mean much looking back. A lot of teams did not get to participate due to scheduling issues and ongoing outside factors from different upcoming events, like all CN teams having a conflicting schedule with CN Stage 2, and teams like Levitan that couldn't focus on EWC Qualifiers because of London.
100T saw veronika's retirement post about how she's leaving until 100T wins an international event and decided that they had to lock in for ewc
going 0-16 in CES in arguably worse than going 0-16 in VCT because you have nothing to gain and everything to lose

Astra could definitely work considering that I'm not entirely sold on Viper, meaning that she would help default a lot better in place of Omen.
Maybe a bit more of a personal preference, but I think that Sage is a lot better for stalling on B than KJ or Cypher, which is necessary for a composition like the one I designed where the duelists and fade would typically be fighting for space other places on the map.
idk how i feel about viper tbh.. I think that there are a few interesting ideas but most of them seem kinda simple? she's probably viable at the very least but I doubt that she'll be hard meta
