"GC has more viewers than T2"

Saw a post along the lines of how "GC has more viewers than T2" which atp isn't even surprising and wanted to list a bunch of reasons why, some include:

The games are streamed on the official valorant twitch/youtube account (compared to tier 2 accounts which have a fraction of the followers/subscribers that the main accounts have)
Have way more promotion on the games (for comparison tier 2 has only a fraction of the social media posts that GC has through promotions)
Much better production (people are more willing to watch something if they don't need to wait 6 hours for the staff to fix something with production)
Has drops (pretty self-explanatory)
Every region is included (Most of the time each region's viewers in tier 2 will consist of that region itself instead of GC which is every single region)
Better venues (venues in tier 2 look like they are from a random small studio they rented out for cheap while GCC gets an entire arena to play in)
Interactive page on Valorant (basically promotion but for everyone even off social media)

The more surprising thing is that even with shit production and promotion, the tier 2 scene is somewhat consistent with the viewership in GCC (at least for last year since this year's GCC hasn't ended yet)

The post was intended to show people why GC on paper is going to always get more viewers than tier 2 does since people still think the only reason that it's happening is because "GC is better than tier 2!"

I more meant that people shouldn't compare GCC and ascension since one is a regional event while one is a fully international event with the best from every region. It would be better to compare say VCL NA stage 1 to GC NA stage 1. Which shows a much different story in viewership.

Tier 2 tends to draw more viewership than GC does during the regular season while GCC draws more attention because it has every region participating rather than just a select few from a geographic region like ascension.

Schedule: if GC champs was during champs champs (or even during a stage) views would drop. This is just good gc planning from riot, but unfortunate for t2 regular season
