Is MIBR the only team that loses a tournament in an embarassing way and goes on a happy vacation after that? After Kickoff, aspas, naxy(his wife), xenom and cortezia went to Ireland and when they came back they kicked nzr to bring Verno. Artzin AFK in Los Angeles. After Toronto, aspas, naxy, xenom went on vacation again, cortezia went back to Brazil. Artzin AFK in Los Angeles.

Are there any other teams that also does this?

SEN went on vacation after missing last year second masters.

Helped them out so why not

Oh yeah, i remember that. But they still only qualified for Champions because of points, its not like they got much better in Stage 2. They turned up during Champions

eh they went 3-0 in groupss and only lost to G2, yes the teams in their group were "bad" , but still, id still say they improved quite a bit
went from losing to LOUD and EG to beating teams better than them

they only lost in the trash playoff format but improvement was still quite noticable

this is why asia dominates league and is starting to dominate val, their grind culture is insane, in the west we worry about balance and they just play the game 18 hours a day on 5 hours of sleep

thats unironically true, there are several sources that relate Asia's success in esports to extreme discipline and burnouts

discipline maybe but burnout and lack of sleep will figuratively kill many talents

it can kill many talents and eventually WILL kill many talents but they see it as the price of winning. A sacrifice they need to do in order to become better and win

Even in western Valorant there are similar stories. There is a vlog from LOUD 23, the LOUD vs SEN game where Less talk about his time on LOUD 22 and how toxic the environment was and the pressure to win Champions at the end of the year.

At that time and even today Sacy said that it was toxic and stressful, but he doesnt regret it because they won. In League Of Legends there are many stories like this. Faker even had to stop playing for a while because he couldnt feel his hands and fingers, he played too much, but he won Worlds that year

Perhaps other than mongolia, Cs is irrelevant here in asia and you know that

We use to tried to compete a lot back in the day. why we quit? Yes, We got stomped and I was there witness all that trash escape to Val and become Masters Champs lmao

Yes but it was very niche, even when it was kinda relevant here at some point, most of us play crossfire more cause its free and has more history here than cs. Even in korea, overwatch is the most popular fps game there.

Gambit was the one team that started that.

I think they were scrimming for over 12 hours + ranked

It works but at the end of the day, burnout will catch up

I think this shows that their team still has phenomenal chemistry?
Like yeah they were one of the worst teams following the Tejo nerf, but I don't see roster changes coming or anything of that sort

was the first international event for a few of them too

What bothers me a little is that this was the first time Aspas had a stinker performance. He was eliminated early many times before in Masters 2, but he was still be the best player on his team and actually put up good numbers

cortezia also posted on twitter going back to LA after his time on Brazil something among the lines of: "After spending time with people that actually care about me..."

And the fact that Artzin never goes to these vacations and he has 0.80 rating this season (FNS retired with 0.78) doesnt give me a lot of hope going forward but lets see. Trust Aspas i guess

He didnt always have the best numbers on loud

on LOUD in the tournaments he lost early (Masters 2):

Masters Copenhagen 22: 1.04 rating, good rating, pancada had 1.05 and saadhak had 1.13, Less and Sacy on the negatives

Masters Tokyo 23: 1.11 rating, great rating, one of the best in the tournament playing 3 maps of Neon and losing 4 maps

On his LEV days 2024, Masters Shanghai (no rating available because China): Top 6 ACS, Top 4 KD, Top 3 KPR, Top 3 FKPR.

A 0.53 rating for Aspas of all people is extremely unusual, he didnt even looked like the same player. Despite losing he was still putting up good numbers, but losing while being one of the main reasons they lost, its the first time

stop coping it just means hes sacrificeing more aura now for his champs run

there is no other player ever you can guarantee will be top 3 at champs every year

I trust he will WIN Champions this year somehow, but this:

Artzin has 0.80 rating this season (FNS retired with 0.78)

its fucked, nzr was kicked out of the team with 0.93, and both frod and artzin said before while mocking LOUD and FURIA that being the IGL is not an excuse to have bad individual numbers

After the loss he was also the only one that stayed to take pictures, give autographs and talk to the fans, while the others just ran away

His tracker is scary bro has literally played at least 20-25 ranked games everyday for two weeks straight, who says he doesn't care about the game 😭

I mean I'd rather have them have a mental reset than go to practice again with those horrible losses in mind and implode from the inside because of it. Despite the results, they said that they overworked themselves and didn't even eat properly during Toronto, so it is understandable to want to reset again for Stage 2.
