Yeah but the illustration is part of it no? Story is no masterpiece but it’s just fun. If you got some sort of entertainment out of it the goal is accomplished, even if you just liked the art. Nobody calling this peak writing, it’s peak junk food.
i don't agree with your first message but this is a W take. shows like demon slayer exist with absolutely stunning animation even though the story is mediocre but i still enjoyed it a bit for it's choreography and animation. also watched blue box which was very cliche but had good animation. some shows can just be sloppa but still be fun. not everything has to be breathtaking world shifting

My issue is with the people who think that it's a masterpiece. And sadly there are too many of those types of people. It is a generic story which has good fight scenes but everything else about the story is average.
I think for what it is, a generic edgy OP mc power fantasy, it is executed really well. Lot of these power fantasies fall short because they try too hard to not be power fantasies while clearly being power fantasies, but solo leveling knows it has a basic ass story and just plays to it's strengths by being hype asf and having peak action setup and sequences.

isnt even one of the best manhwa's. imo try omniscient readers viewpoint or greatest estate developer(comedy and one of my favs)
