?? It's so stupid though.. I get that they want sustainable teams to be in the league to make sure the esports stays relevant, but there's no way they betray the skilled teams that keep their tournaments watchable
Thats franchising for you. There is not enough spaces and orgs are too broke for players that should be in tier 1.
I assume if teams like EG dont step up the slots would go for G2 and EG will be kicked cause aint no way Riot keep and unstable ORG like EG instead of an ORG like G2.
it wont happen g2 is locked for a perminent spot even tho they have a 2 year contract no chance they get relegated before mibr or eg
The Guard did, but then decided to disband the team due to... reasons. Then G2 bought the team as they didn't get a spot in VCT, allegedly due to the Ocelote/Tate incident.
G2 didn't win Ascension, TGRD did.
If Riot wants to keep 10 teams and have a constant flux of 2 Ascension teams, add relegation. Let them fight for their spot.
No they should not. Ascension is good as it is why would you allow a financially unstable org like the guard to ascend, we already have enough scandals with the ones that are supposed to be controlled.
And no they should not add relegation, teams can change from 1 year to another. If there was relegation KRU and TH would be gone, and we would have random orgs with no fans and mid rosters like Apeks instead
The Relegation I planted meant as a Relegation only for the 2 Ascension teams.
10 fixed teams (iirc, their spot lasts for 4 years who just continue if Riot says so after the 4 years)
2 Ascension teams (one of them looses its spot in VCT annually and fights in Relegation to keep the spot against the tier 2 team)
That's a great idea actually,, keep the sustainable orgs that bring their fanbase, while ascension teams that deserve to be there get a chance to stay.
they wont add relegation bc they know all the LATAM+Brazil teams would get relegated first.
They won't add relegation because riot has contracts with the orgs. They should have relegation tho. That would be so much better than kicking them after 2 years.

Yeah. If the team is successful tho they could hope an org can sign their whole team. Otherwise they would just split up or compete together again in tier 2.
If there was relegation, VCT would never exist as there are no 30 orgs in the world that would sign up for a place where their spot is not guaranteed
Meh idk. EG might just leave for next year. The only reason why they are still in this year is because riot forced them.
What makes you think they won’t be forced again, who knows what clauses are on that contract
Plus if they were to replace them now they can’t give it to G2 because that would leave Americas with one less team
theres a decent chance g2 could potentially receive egs spot in franchising as eg is leaving competitive gaming

If that's true that is good then, but that would also be scary for the tier 2 teams because what if that team is a world champion?
wasn't there a special ruling for a good performing ascension team to be considered to extend their stay at the league?
They can prob get added permanently when the contracts with all the other orgs expire and they want to replace a bad org who never tried
