LOCK IN wasnt cursed, if they beat LOUD they would have won the event (doesn't matter though, just a mickey mouse tournament)
if it wasnt a mickey mouse tournament the finals would be NRG vs LOUD again
tbf, nrg doesnt look as good as optic. ardiis isnt consistent. also looking at who they played, it isn't impressive tbh. they played navi who r so overrated rn. t1 also, t1 arent really doing too well. (lost a map to both of them btw). lost to fnatic 2-0, if they were as good as the old optic, shoulda at least made it more competitive. beat drx 2-0, drx looking shaky, losing to paper rex with a sub. nrg 2-1 team liquid, pretty gud but eg demolished them while nrg vs tl ended in 2-1.
thats cool and all but doesn’t change the fact that this core is the most successful that we have seen in valo so far :)
u cant really say optic core=nrg core. u need yay in there, he was carrying optic most of them time. but yeh optic core is really gud
Tbf, if you analyze this way every run, it looks like they fluked all their placements. But in reality is that most team fall off after a couple toruneys and struggle to be this consistent + although these teams look bad, they are here over other teams, and have something that makes them kinda good. If nrg was bad, they wouldnt have escaped groups
? compared to the old optic, they would get rolled over. all the teams they faced r ass, except for fnatic which they only got 13 rounds in 2 maps. its like optic is in the NBA while nrg r like 3rd graders playing basketball against first graders or something, yeah they r gonna win but they arent gud
the meta has changed. Also, Optic was also known for lower bracket runs not upper bracket. The only ran an upper bracket run once (FNS talks about it in the documentary where he said that it was nice to finally have more time for prac and analyzing teams rather than playing in lower bracket)
NRG beat every team in Americas other than LEV (their scrim partners) and MIBR. So unless all of Americas is ass, then they did beat some good teams.

Say they win this event, who between Crashies and Victor is called the best player of all time? I think FNS is obviously called GOAT IGL(probably already is) but it would be between those two, for sure overtaking chronicle or Yay in my mind.
They won’t win though everytime chronicle plays against them victor gets exposed and you can’t say they are better than chronicle as chronicle has played on lan 4 times if you include emea league and his worst position tournament was getting to final and losing 3-1.
while the old optic core lost 3 matches in coppenhagen alone plus both times when crashies has went up against Leo he can’t perform to his usual level either those 2 have played nrg a total of 3 times and never dropped a map to them.
they are 7-0 nrg can’t win as long as fnatic are in the tournament as they are the anti-nrg/optic/envy their players and catching staff are the perfect counters for nrg
If they won this tourney they'd have as many top 2 finishes as Chronicle has tournaments played at. Obviously they'd have to win and the odds aren't in their favor but those three would be far more decorated than any player in history, not even close.
That’s the point though those THREE not 1 chronicle has went from gambit where he was speaking comms in Russian all the time to fnatic where he had to adapt and comm in English and his level hasn’t dropped he is still performing to that level the difficulty of that is ridiculously hard and if nrg wins but chronicle still outperforms them then you can’t call them the goats as chronicle would of outperfomed them 3 times in a row 3/3 games they are the most overrated players in history they are great but not goats they have been destroyed by leo and chronicle 2 times each

it's pretty impressive considering they typically play really close games. but i think 2024 and beyond they are probably going to get overshadowed by new talent, the game is becoming incredibly competitive, with china and pacific scenes in particular
Tbf the optic cores natural enemy is actually fnatic especially the current nrg as chronicle and Leo both times they’ve played them have managed to keep victor or crashies quite quiet even when they were on gambit and guild respectively
