thats very true but i feel like that also may be an org issue not yay’s. only 4 rosters to choose from considering NRG didn’t have enough $$ for all of OpTic. 100T wanted cryo, so his options were SEN, EG, and C9. i doubt SEN were planning on dropping tenz, plus they needed an igl (dephh) and basically picked up many other members of SEN including staff and zekken. EG or C9 honestly is a no-brainer considering C9 had experience and team members who played internationally compared to EG who was relatively newer (they also kept boostio as awp/igl). i do believe that there was better options for a dedicated sova type initiator than zellsis but since zellsis had a pretty good lcq run, he was a contender. mce also did great with the guard as a coach and just fell a bit short in lcq. you’re right in the sense that there were better options but things happen and its what c9 are stuck with. theyve just got to work with what they have.
i always thought yay was trying to be the best in the world as he has said many times before and based on his mindset, could be that there werent many teams to choose from in the first place or he just wanted to play with specific people on c9. they have potential but from previous results so far and scrims (obviously are not a huge factor) it seems that they wont be at the top, probably not even close. hoping that mce and vanity are able to pull the squad together in time for brazil and that yay is able to perform the same or better than he did on optic with fns and chet.

NA franchised teams scrims are honestly very surprising, atp its hard to tell whos best based off of scrims (not like you could in the first place). guess we will see whos truly better at LOCK//IN 😈

i mean, we already saw 3/5 of these teams perform, therefore it’s plausible to assume that he used those results in forming his opinion. plus, doing this after the tournament makes sense, we now have some information as to how the teams may perform the rest of the year based on how they did in kickoff. you can make opinions after an actual tournament that showcases the rosters based on how they performed. making these opinions beforehand means nothing but whatever floats your boat!
ok but how do you know this? you cant just judge teams based off of how they look on paper. you are blatantly making random assumptions based off of your personal view on these teams. wait until LOCK//IN kickoff tournament and then make these conclusions. some of these teams have yet to even play yet and you are already reaching.

most of the matches will be very close i feel, with less “fun” lotus/harbor picks because its too risky in single elim. i have NAVi > TL and NRG > LOUD. DRX vs PRX potentially will be a banger too but i have DRX qualifying for obvious reasons.
this is mad annoying, but i guess its whatever. NAVI and TL look like some of the best teams on paper and only one of them make it into top 8? exciting match in “group stage” but was hoping both would make it farther.
LOUD vs OPTIC rivalry lives on! disappointed that its for the top 8 quali though, masters copenhagen all over again.. however, very very excited to watch with the new members of each roster.
