Does anyone genuinely believe this?
I don't expect people to actually care about that shit, it's a fucking username. You are one in two people that I remember to actually call my username out and think I'm baiting cause I'm a "Parody Account"
I mean the criteria for GOAT selection is just inconsistent
Ethan’s a great leader tho
Love that guy
Link an event in the past 2 years where less went to an international, I'll wait
https://www.vlr.gg/event/2281/valorant-masters-bangkok-2025
https://www.vlr.gg/event/1921/champions-tour-2024-masters-madrid
hey look two top4 international placements!
#2 rated player at madrid too btw
getting carried by teammates is different than getting carried by teammates and actually leading a team
i get the point of this analogy is to discredit champs wins
but you cant make the same analogy for ethan
I’m an NRG fan I’m not trying to discredit anything
But there’s just no way you can convince me that when you watch Ethan play you genuinely think to yourself that ‘yeah this guy is the greatest player to ever touch this game’, I just refuse to believe it
hes not the most flashiest to ever do it
But he produces results
On 2 diff rosters
and IGLing one
and does kiles clear kaajak because he “produces results”? Ethan individually has never been even a top 20 player itw, you have to disregard individual performances to a comical degree to say that he’s the greatest to ever do it because of his achievements
no, depending on preference you can argue kiles has accomplished more in his career than kajaak. Champs trophy vs multiple deep lan runs and ROKY.
But context matters aswell, that champs trophy is pretty dusty and kiles has not been in the league for a while.
Even with a champs trophy kajjak is obviously better than kiles
Why are you using a comparison of a player who hasnt been in t1 in 4 years vs the best rookie in emea
Ethan is still active and in the league and his champs trophies are relevant in the current time
If it was 2028 and I said ethan is the best still and its bc hes the only player to have 2 champs trophies then come flame me
Ok so since being in tier 1 matters then you should think that Starxo > kaajak all time right?
if ethan is the goat of valorant because he has 2 champs then modric is the goat of football because he has 6 ucls
yep your right goat debate should be settled by individual brilliance meaning Aspas is the goat
yes
ethan is the best player in the world !!
i’m a valorant enjoyer from Tel Aviv and this is my opinion
well its either aspas or him, and if ethan gets another trophy somehow its undisputable. trophies matter
individual performances also matter
how can someone who has never even been a top 20 player itw individually at any point in his career be the greatest to ever do it? Please tell me how that makes any sense because I really don’t get it
yea thats why i mentioned aspas. it really depends on your school of thought, if you are familiar with cs its like s1mple vs zywoo (except zywoo still is a top individual). but basically imo if u value trophies its ethan if u dont its aspas
actually youre right, thats a better comparison anyways 2 champs trophies in a game as young as valorant is difficult to compete with so far. if aspas can keep up this performance for a few more years and even if he doesnt win hell become the goat
that's like saying Dani Alves is the goat of football just because he had more trophies than Messi
It originated from the fact people were calling "chronicle" the goat just based on team achievements.
Game isn't old enough for the comparison but it's as close as we can get for now (Up to 2025).
Aspas ~ S1mple
Ethan, Chronicle ~ Dupreeh
He does have two champs trophy and the only one to have this title until Starxo decides to win another trophy this year
Who is actually in contention? I've only seen Alfa, Ethan, aspas, and Chron brought up in conversations.
Alfa's case: Best performances at internationals.
aspas's case: Longevity, insane domestic performances, consistently #1
Ethan's case: 2 Champs with two different teams
Chron's case: 3 international wins
So it really depends on what your criteria is, I would lean aspas given that VCT is still quite young and so rings don't mean as much yet.
aspas lacks trophies, chronicle lacks impact, Ethan lacks stats, alfa hasn’t proven it outside fnc
no goat in val yet
Chronicle was never even been the best player on his own team when he won #notmygoat
Ethen and Chron = most accomplished / best support
Aspas / Alfa = most dominant
I would say we have yet to have a player that is both.
Ethan is top 2 imo
Chronicle
3 international trophies, top 5 at almost every tournament he's been at. (His worst ever tournament placement was 13-16th in 2021 on gambit.)
Ethan
2x world champion in modern times on two very different teams playing 2 very different roles, Top cut at most tourneys he's been to since franchising,
Aspas
1x world champion in early valorant, top cut at most international tournaments he's been to.
Ethan and aspas are super close together though, if aspas steps it up later then this could definitely change for me.
