For me half means enough to get by in the countries where these languages are widely spoken . Like I sometimes have to mix in english words to fully complete my sentences thats more so for arabic than spanish honestly .
Urdu is basically hindi+ an ancient indian language called sanskrit + arabic + turkish . Like a person who is fluent in hindi and has an above average understanding of hindi can easily understand urdu
