that's a pretty bad excuse and you know it.
i don't think people have "naturally" bad attention spans. it comes from social media/video game addiction and the constant need to feel some sort of fast-reaction stimulation.
what you should do in the future is train yourself to not want to do something as much. it's okay to be bored. read, listen to classical music, do stuff that lowers your brain activity. this is 100% controllable and it's up to you to fix it.
idk why people have no problem accepting stuff like some people are naturally good at math while other people are not etc but cant accept it when it comes to things like attention span/natural talent to work hard
im not saying im not the bad one here or anything, im just saying that describing it like its entirely my choice not to study is a stretch
I made an account just to tell you that I am very similar and have struggled with ts for awhile now. You might want to look into adhd which is linked to executive dysfunction - the inability to execute on tasks typically due to lower than normal dopamine levels. The best solution to this is drugs that boost your dopamine levels. It worked for me, it'll probably work for you.

I went to the GP who didn't believe me in the slightest , just thought I was coping for my laziness. Despite getting top grades and going to a selective school, I felt like my energy and focus was significantly lower than anyone else around me. I could not for the life of me do boring shit like watch lectures or pay attention in class.
I dropped out of HS at the end of year 9 and started to take meds in mid 2025. Since then, I've managed to enter University 2 years ahead of my peers and currently outperforming nearly everyone else in my university cohourt.
The meds allow me to do what I want to do. They will not fix everything but they will give you a chance.
there are certainly some people that enjoy working hard; there are also others that require self-discipline to work as hard as the others.
You lack the self discipline to work hard, hence why you're doing last minute study prep instead of spending the time on the :3 threads studying
some people are better at disciplining themselves while others are not, some of them might not even have enough willpower to train their ability of self-discipline
i don't think saying someone is "naturally good at math" is valid either for the record, math is almost entirely a learned skill. most people "naturally" excelling in math just had their parents grind it into them a shit ton as a kid (speaking from personal experience).
i'm not attacking you for not trying but self-discipline and attention span IS trainable. just because it's not the best for you now doesn't mean it'll stay forever.
i never said stuff like attention span/self-discipline is untrainable－you said that no one has bad attention span naturally so i just responded to that by saying genetic/natural factor is also a thing in attention span
im just saying that its unreasonable to describe my action as “lack of accountability, my fault” as studying was something that i deliberately abandoned despite the fact that i had a capability to do so
that's fair, i mean genetics might play a part in attention span so it's not entirely fair to say it's all nurture
it's kinda hard from the average student's perspective to thinking of not studying as not a choice, if ykwim. i suppose it's just me not being exposed to enough people, to know that that exists

I'm ngl gaussian elimination so tedious, even more than finding the matrix of minors, then turning it into the matrix of co factors and transposing it and then multiplying the transposed matrix by the reciprocal of the determinant
Could be because you aren't used to it yet, maybe you can do it fast enough for 3x3 matricies but good luck trying that for 4x4 matricies
To at least get the intuition just spam 3blue1brown videos. When I took linear algebra the tests were extremely conceptual
