id say its ait but ive lived here my entire life tho so idrk, the days do indeed get really short during winter and the snow can suck sometimes. i dont know how ur contract or whatever works but id say give it a year and if you dont like it then it is what it is
I live in Finland so close enough and I definitely get alot of seasonal depression, but honestly all you really need is vitamin d supplements and trying to maximize being outside during the few hours the sun is actually up
Seasonal depression is real thing and it sucks. One thing I truly hate about this country.
For sure. Finland would be 10000x better if we had the weather of Spain or something
It's hard to tell that its happening when it's happening sadly, but it's always doable and if anything it makes the summers feel so so much better :p
This is the first time hearing of seasonal depression thanks for the info
It's a pretty real thing and explains alot for me personally. When it happens its hard to tell that it's happening until the weather starts warming up, feels the same as classic good old depression
That helps but its not enough. I am at a point where i am considering moving south for that very reason. Sunshine just has such a massive impact on my mood and happiness
For sure. It's very hard to find ways to actually get over the hurdle of seasonal depression and it's very different for everyone. Just finding ways to get myself out the house more and whatnot during the winter personally helps alot
i lived in malta for a while, no offense but it's a 2nd world country
if i were you i'd leave asap
u might wanna say if its south/mid/north
the difference between south/north in norway goes from "mostly normal" daylight hours to night time/daylight for 24 hours.
its the same in sweden
idk about swedes tho but us norwegian in general have a lack of vitamin D, so if ur used to alot of sun, supplements would probably be smart
Nordic country despite having one of the best economical system in the world, have a high suicidal rate because of the lack of sun.
But I think if someone offer you a job you like in a country you are curious to discover then you maybe shall try
(It's north Korea you can leave if mental health worsen)
Worth a shot, the nordic countries are some of the best places you can be. Just keep track of how much vitamin D you are and aren't getting and supplement in the winter.
Unless its truly a massive opportunity i wouldnt do it. If youre from Malta and you like sun you are not cut out for the north. You really arent. It will affect you strongly for 3-4 months of the year at least
The winters are cold and dark and it changes depends on where in sweden you will be but you will adapt to the winters after a few years i highly recommended taking walks in the winters where the sun is up
i personally wouldnt depending on how much youre gonna get paid
