Hot takes on "Nice try"

"Nice try" or "nt" should only be given to someone actually putting efforts to win the clutch, and not just the last player standing cluelessly spraying hoping to get a kill

I'm saying this because last game I played my Raze got tilted and started throwing the game because we (the team) didn't say "nice try" when Raze just sit in the open checking every goddamn angles possible (you know those indecisive bunch not knowing when to stop and hold an angle). So yeah, thoughts?

In an ideal world yes, but if you dont say nice try valorant crybabies go off, so in order to win you have to sacrifice a little bit of your pride to feed these attention starved losers
it feels kind of bad that we have to cater to these randos on the internet but to me winning is more important

This is true. Usually when something like "last player standing cluelessly spraying" happens, I just say something like "unlucky" or "unfortunate, team". Ultimately it's a team game and there's no reason to "nice try" a guy especially if it isn't actually "nice".

I once said "that is not a nice try, you can do better, man" and they became aggressive in chat

I think that's pretty encouraging tbh. That's a skill issue on his behalf.

if you try to be literal while typing stuff in val, say gg to your rank.

in valorant rank, vibes is the most important part. whether you literally mean the "nt" or not doesnt matter, what matters is that its a positive message at the end of the round. if you try to just point out mistakes always, people will just get annoyed, whether you were right or not.

there are definitely moments where you should actually constructively criticize your teammates, but the larger part of the comms should be kept positive, as that will give you the best ranked experience, whethere you win or lose

same goes for gg.....if u get destroyed in a game, no way in hell is that a good game lmao....stop saying 'gg' after after 13-2,13-4, etc. lol......also why tf are u saying GG after a remake..dude WHAT

Everyone just says nt even when the try was horrendous just to keep the atmosphere good, try not to lower the confidence and vibes and regardless of if the game is won or not, at least it does not always turn out shit completely

then they will never learn that their play was bad

Teaching them what theyre doing wrong wont make them learn and improve unless they themselves want to learn. You cannot force someone to grow, they must grow by themselves otherwise it will be half-hearted and won't go any where. Plus all that fancy shit aside, all of these guys have so much ego considering how shit they are it makes no sense but they do. TBH I don't even like talking to people that give off certain vibes, atp I dont have enough energy to converse with them, especially when they get all pissy when you ask them to stop using their set up on a and play b after we are down 8-0 because they haven't gone to his site even once and he always slow walks to retake as the last person alive some mfs don't have the ability to adapt man

Do you really think you being mean to them is what makes them realise it was bad? Bruh they lost the round, of course they know they did something wrong. You're the same rank as them, you're not gonna teach them shit.

Who cares if they learn that their play was bad or not? I'm never gonna see them again after this game; their only value to me is the RR I can gain from the 26 max rounds I have to spend with them

After you rank up you'll naturally get paired up with people that know what they're doing by default anyways

It is about psychology not logic
It is LOGICALLY true that when you, your teammate or your team lose, there are bad things they did and need to improve
But PSYCHOLOGICALLY wrong to not keep the atmosphere good

If you stay with your argument in real life, no one is willing to work together with you

I mean if you wanna win the game, be nice to your teammates, even if they're insufferable cunts. Tell your duo in discord "holy shit what a fucking dumbass", press V, say "nice try", release V, say "that was not a nice try, I've literally never seen a worse try in my life", ez.

bro half the playerbase tilts easily when they whiff badly which makes them perform at like 20% for the rest of the game

you lie and say it's fine and nt because you want to reassure your teammates and make sure they tilt as little as possible

facts, if I throw a clutch I do NOT want to hear how shitty I am. I already know, just go next round.

Yeah I just type nt then hurl all the abuses under the sun at them when they lose the 3v1 after I get a 3k in the round.
