FPX Visa Issues, we all saw what FPX did you Optic the following Masters in Copenhagen once they were allowed to play.
Inexperienced Zeta Division (Doubtful to make Tokyo after a fluke run)
Inexperienced Loud (First international stage for all the guys besides Sacy)

I wouldn't include Fnatic as even with Derke, the roster was awful so Optic beats Fnatic either way in 2022 but they get molly whopped by FPX which is factually evident in Copenhagen that took place a few months after and hence the 2022 Iceland run was a fluke that favoured Optic due to circumstances.

LOCK IN was perceived by some players as a half-joking way to quickly lose and go home to prepare for the league. It was only natural, because if they did not win the league, they would not be able to participate in Masters Tokyo or Champions.
Of course, it is better to win, but what they are really aiming for is not the champion of LOCK IN, but the champion throughout the year (Champions 2023 winner)

not really lol. newly formed teams who were all prepared to treat the tourney like an exhibition match beforehand, everyone fresh off the biggest meta change the game had at the time, and no lower bracket for rematch potential so we can't properly grade teams.

Stakes were kinda high getting deep in the tournament, but that's as competitive as it gets. Teams were scrappy and unrefined, and no results from that tourney should be taken as fact. Their placements in the respective leagues kind of presents a weird correlation gotcha moment, but imo they shouldn't be correlated at all

3-2 champs 2021 finals, close playoff games, insane comebacks, i would say lock // in was nowhere near as competitive as that event, but i will agree reykjavik wasn't competitive because it was the start of the game's competitive lifespan. don't be delusional though, lock // in win does not mean as much, its just that fnatic are better regardless of winning that event, it didn't prove anything outside of beating loud

Reykjavík 2021 was a double elim bracket, the entire tournament.
Champs 2021 was double elim group stage, and single elim bracket.

Anyone stating that a primary exhibition/introductory tournament is more important than those is unfortunately braindead (or simply doesn't understand how competitive pro esports tournaments are being approached)
