NA VLR users in 2021 - 2022
Complaining about LATAM and BR having too many slots and are unworthily of the slots. Every NA user were asking for LATAM and BR to be combined. the site was shit talking and being toxic to BR and LATAM teams every tournament.

NA VLR users in 2023 -

It had nothing to do with that, the whole reasoning was that BR had never made it out of groups while EMEA "was the only good region"

still doesn´t, by any means, justify killing an entire competitive region just because you want more slots for yours. Truth is every region gets way too toxic when their region is on top and then start acting like martyrs once the tables turn, you throw the dog a bone i guess..

i think that was mainly a lack of education about Brazil and LATAM's T1 scene. at majors, most NA people only saw LOUD, Kru/Lev, and then no one else of importance. No one really watched Brazil or LATAM challengers, so they just assumed 1 team region and moved on. especially when champs rolled around and brazil and latam got grouped besides LOUD and LEV, it just justified those beliefs more. The 5-3-2 split was definitely the right decision hands down and I'm glad riot found enough orgs to fill those slots.

Good take.
I think 1 of the benefits of franchising will be this increased awareness for the other regions (Outside of masters/champs).
I think viewers will be move inclined to watch teams like furia or secret play.
Especially when they can play the likes of 100t, versus the old format where they would play the likes of "Stars Horizon" (no offense stars horizon fans).
Think this will be more prevalent in Americas/pacific though.
I can see this being a huge benefit for pacific in particular.

The statements about BR in 2021 were mostly true. In most tourneys, they looked like the worst region except Japan. However, they had a massive power up, and are looking like one of the best subregions in the world. They have the best team in the world, and the rest of their partnered teams look good, although more so Furia then MIBR.
