NiKo's comment on the highlight clips should be universally understood: the shots look harder and thus more satisfying in CSGO, Valorant is like playing softball...

#35

are we forgetting what a highlight is?? it's players best moments out of like hundreds of thousands of moments

He never played the game lol. His words. It’s like having an opinion on a movie from watching the trailer lol

Is he wrong tho? I think many people even pros have said that aiming in Valorant is easier than in CSGO? Neutral take, not my opinion because I'm worse in Valorant than CSGO.

CSGO is Mechanically hard
Valorant is Strategically hard

#16
patuj
-27
Frags

I mean CSGO is both mechanically and strategically hard. Even more than Valorant right now. My point is that looking at Valorant clutches or clips isn't as impressive than CSGO because many have said Valorant is easier when it comes to aiming. Especially from point of CSGO pro's view. NiKo's mechanics are way more impressive than Yay's etc.

so ur saying that csgo is strategically harder although you have to master an agents abilities to be good at valorant

#68

Valorant abilities are nothing compared to CSGO utility. At least not at this point. And that is only one part.

yeah must be hard to do the same default on the same map for the 500th time... it can be tough to play against and counter but that still gameplay isnt strategically harder than val in any way.

#27

Frags

csgo is incredibly hard strategically

i agree that val is hard strategically but cs has been compettively relevant for so long that the amt of anti stratting a cs team does for one major probably trumps the amt of anti stratting a val team does for an entire split

#51

This is true, but the only reason for this is the years and years of time to forge way more developed strategies and tactics. Valorant on equal time will be far more complex. There's simply a lot more that goes into the game.

#52
ayanzx
-3
Frags
+

maybe so but wouldnt cs strategy also progress further in that time?
your logic is inherently flawed

#53
cobalt21312
3
Frags

cs strategy would progress yeah but their point is that valorants strategy will be far more complex than CSGOs given more time because of abilities

#81
symbols07

Frags

lol progress to where, its the same util. there wont be a new fade prowler that will make strategy shift as heavily as val has every 6 months

#56

Its crazy how much some people are underrating the strategical depth of CSGO. People just see smoke grenades and flashes and instantly assume those are really simple and easy utility to pull off. Like do these guys ever watch professional CSGO? The variety of rounds and must do counter stratting in CSGO is massive. Even random spawn positions completely change plans and plays for the round and that doesn't even happen in Valorant. Like watching G2 play couple days ago where m0NESY was taking quick AWP angles from different positions at start of every round and how the enemy team was trying their best to counter it with utility. Stuff like that makes current Valorant strategical stuff look like casual in comparison.

CSGO might look simple, but holy is there so many small details that might completely change the outcome. Also teams are constantly coming out with new ideas and plays with limited utility they have, so then again opponents have to re-think their usage of utility and even movement etc. So the game and its strats are constantly evolving and changing even to this day. I didn't even understand this before watching Elige trying to teach Freakazoid some lineups, like that shit is crazy when he explains about metas etc.

#62
ayanzx
1
Frags
+

exactly, the utility usage in cs is way more crucial to a round than in val. a missed dart or molly in val doesn't mean you've completely lost the round but a missed molly in cs basically guarantees the other team the round(ie, cat molly on dust 2) i agree with ur point on spawn positions and their massive effect on the round as well because of how important it is for certain players to throw certain utility.

#71
texraupen
3
Frags
+

Also it seems like people here don't understand that some utility in CS needs to be pixel perfect and sometimes that includes movement, jumping, crouching and any combination of those as well, even the most common ones on high level like Mirage windows smoke from T spawn, or how some people throw utility on Dust 2 B site from little holes on the ceiling in tunnel, wall of smokes on Nuke outside, which requires 3 very accurate smokes if you don't want to be seen, smoke on the ledge on Dust 2 short. If we include maps that are not in the competitive map pool now then NiP smokes on Cbble, Train utility was pretty crazy in general considering how little space was there to work with for Ts, some stuff on Cache was flying like halfway across the map.

#57

CSGO utility is so much more complex than what you think it is. Its true mastery from the top teams. Every single utility piece counts and is used to get max value. You don't just recon and get it back 30 seconds later. Its more complex than Valorant abilities at the moment. You just don't understand it.

saying valorant is easy like cs is any harder? you click heads in both games

#41

What a stupid comparison. Of course CS is harder. Harder to aim, specifically. Less abilities means aim is also more important.

#42
cobalt21312
4
Frags

how is aiming harder in CS? aiming is just as important in valorant. neither game is harder than the other

#54
Olofboost

Targets in CS are smaller and they move faster. Try yourself. I mean even newbies know that CS aiming requires much more precise skills

#74
cobalt21312

idk they look pretty similar to me. csgo actually just a worse game in general though

#75
Olofboost
1
Frags

You literally haven't even compared the differences
"They look pretty similar" something what a guy who played 10 hours of CS would say

There's a reason why t4 csgo rejects are now gods in valorant, on the same level as t1 csgo players

#76
cobalt21312

i have 600 hours in csgo, i dont play it anymore because valorant is simply more fun and less lame to get better at

#50

If aiming is harder in other game how does it make the game easier or harder? You play against other people with same game mechanics.

#55
Olofboost

No, it just means Valorant has lower skill ceiling, that in Valorant s1mple / Chronicle will be equally good players, though in CS one is god and another is random t3 pugger

#63

Chronicle would shit on trashple in valorant

Just proves that in Valorant all players are equal, despite them being very much different in CS
Low skill game

#69
Valgod
1
Frags
+

How does that prove anything

#70
Sushi_
1
Frags

in valorant the skill cieling for a team is higher but for a player is lower, because of abilities a team with good synergy, strats, protocols, and set plays will be miles and miles above a team with mediocre ability usage, and theirs more to perfects with abilities. But individually its a lot easier to become a god tier aimer.

how does it look ez. like for ex suygetsu 4k to close that prx final, that was some peak mechanical gameplay, how is that any easier in cs... geniuine question

#82
hekzy
-3
Frags
+

It wasn't. It really wasn't.

Personally, I know valorant is way esiter mechanically. And that's what turns me off of all the highlights, they seem dull, even 5ks.

But I feel like it's very different strategically, and the util combos are actually the most exciting highlights for me.

#83
symbols07
0
Frags
+

like i said, tell me the difference, if its the opponent team playing/positioning badly then i can somewhat understand. but that 4k will look exactly the same and would require equally good mechanics to do in both games

#85
hekzy
0
Frags

Firstly, it's the opponents peeking one by one in a 1v4. Peeking out in the open. Secondly, valorant has huge hitboxes. Thirdly, valorant models move way slowerx than in CS, which makes them less mobile targets. Fourthly, watch that in 0.25x speed and you'll understand.
