sliggy admits his coaching was shit far too often to be a legitimate fraud imo
Pretty sure his VCT record from 2021- Post 2nd Reykjavik is something like 42-17 or something ridiculous like that
potter has been underwhelming for a while but she still isn't Engh/immi/stunner tier imo
potter's roster achievements:
- turned down florescent in favour of icy
- turned down notexxd (he never even got a trial LOL) in favour of supamen (before note was looked at by c9)
- c0m, for a second time
- "apoth"
potter was never a god coach people think she was, she herself attributed a lot of the 2023 success to players coming up with plays on the spot and their individuality. The best thing she ever did was promote demon1 to the roster and that's it. She's had full roster control since 2023 (a thing not many coaches get), meaning she's had the time and the ability to build a long-term project, but the only prospect she's gotten is dgzin. For a coach who's meant to develop talent she really loves dropping good players (okeanos, yay) after a bad year after making them off-role the whole time
poorest org that has both an academy and GC team, also the poorest org that still plans to do their 10 man roster thing for next year

They do all this for a better shot at partnership, so they can tell sponsors hey look we got 20k fns' viewers, gc, academy team invest in us
the point is if you have an academy team you could even try to sign some good FA players, which is something that EG for some reason don't know how to do. Potter is incapable of scoutting actual talent. Florescent and note are great examples, but some other FA players that they (or EGA) could've gotten (for league minimum ofc since they were FA)

I'll give her the fact that she promoted zerona, which was an insanely underrated pick but that and dgzin is genuinely the only bright spot of a roster move she's made since 2023

that's true, they are a cheap org, but if thats the case she should be focused on doing one of two things as the coach
- scoutting prospects
- developing talent
She has done neither of these things. people hate on C9 but considering they're also a poverty team they've been doing pretty well recently with those things. they got oxy a while ago, didn't really need to develop him since he was good but they had that piece, and then they've been adding FA players they scoutted who were good and have been trying to develop them, like fireballops, jackk, note (to an extent), and v1c.
potter literally passed up florescent and note for worse players, and has dropped players, who in my opinion, stood a fair shot like okeanos and yay, instead of developing them or fixing roles for them in the long-term.
Riot heavily subsidize organizations who have academy teams and provide financial support. Same for GC. EG has had to leave several esports due to funding so they cna just focus on a select few. So yes they are one of the poorest orgs...
Riot "heavily subsidizes" do you think that means they are gaining money on GC and academy teams? They are still tanking money having them LOL and poverty teams can do well if you try to sign FAs and develop talent. That's my entire point, given her circumstances, she just hasn't tried to do that. She did it with demon1 before and that's literally it, she's passed up on generational FA talents that would've excelled the team in favour of shittier players who she thinks fits into her "system"
First of all EG is broke as shit. Having full roster control means little to nothing when you have 2 hay pennies and a sack of dried turnips to offer players. (I doubt they even have spare league minimums to offer.)
EG poured all of their money into FNS, A gc team, and an academy team for a better shot at partnership next year. If and when they get that I suspect they'll drop the Gc/Academy rosters and then give potter some more money to work with. If they had the money for it we probably would've gotten a full roster rebuild rather than 2 academy players, Supa, and Bao.
Also, this form of EG under a LOT of other coaches doesn't even come close to playoffs, A Top 8 Finish with BAO/SUPA weighing you down is not an easy thing to do. Potter is 100% a great coach.
Naw youre tripping EG just doesnt have the talent, solid players though.
why are we blaming the coach instead of the org and their budget. She's also made a really good and competitive roster this year using several rookies as well as players people didnt believe in like supamen.
Didn't she also pioneer the 10 man roster that won them champs?
I don't necessarily agree potter is a fraud (she's quite honest about how the run wasn't hugely anything attributable to her in particular which imo disqualifies her for the same reason it includes Frost) but we can't be saying this in a world where Autumn has a masters trophy 💀
engh, kaplan, muggle, and autumn are all coaches with trophies yet for some reason they are frauds... but potter's champs win is different apparently. Coaches and players should be rated based on what they actually have done in their current seasons, not some feat they achieved three years ago

no one likes a coach who overpromises and under delivers. fr0st has talked a big game in podcasts and interviews, and delivered nothing. we made London on a map platoon prepped as frost himself admitted. he's quick to throw players under the bus when he keeps changing agents every game. there re 0 instances where he's admitted any mistake where i didn't get the right agents/ map choices.
Good team builder but shit on everything else. Just look how FS looks before and after him and both GE with fr0st and FS with their trash comps

He's certainly not the only problem but he's helping about as little as autumn did for his carried trophy.
i dont hate him, But he is a fraud bro, He kept using the same comps that worked for him in 2025 with vlt... and didnt even finish top 2 in VCSA 2026 with a very strong team with that..... Infact there is an argument that 2025 strat making for vlt was actually done by Russ.
