Mine's definitely pop punk

It's an inoffensive overproduced bastardisation of punk that's for the most part completely gratingly desperate to be catchy, without any of the raw or interesting production or rough instrumentation, and without any of the actual shocking or edgy content that punk was literally defined by. The lyrics are never actually boundary pushing, they're always safe and corporate approved veneers of false rebellion that's so bland it could appear on the fucking Disney channel. Pop punk is just the aesthetics of a subculture being co-opted by people trying to turn the appeal of being unique or against the mainstream into profitable slop that's palatable to the most normie people on earth

i hate 90% of everything released in the past 10 years

"bedroom pop" is the biggest offender, full of industry plants who cant sing always writing the same exact songs (cough cough sombr, malcolm todd)

there are barely any good up-and-comer hip hop artists

rock is dead

even kpop used to have some flair but now it's just 200 boy bands copying each other, and the good girl groups end up disbanding for some reason

plus beethoven hasnt dropped any bangers in 200+ years

I think most mainstream music is garbage nowadays yeah but I think there'll always be good music coming out we haven't got less talented it's just the internet and the access to infinite content has kinda fried people's ability to tell what's good or isn't, but also made it easier than ever to produce and discover non-mainstream music
