Why Sentinels will not sign Eeiu anytime soon atm

First of all.

  • Ewok is a very resilient coach
  • During his tenure as an RRQ coach, he managed 14 different players over three years, choosing to slowly develop them rather than benching anyone at the first.
  • What Ewok brings as a coach is mutual trust, which is the central pillar of Ewok’s entire coaching philosophy.
  • He has a proven track record of shielding players from public backlash; during a highly heavily criticized 2023 season with RRQ, he refused to make panic benches or mid-season cuts despite massive fan backlashes and elite talent available in the APAC market.
  • Stood by players like crazyguy and xffero when they were individually doing very bad, he choose to systematically rebuild their coordination in the game.
  • JonahP is now a veteran of this team, ewok's goal isn't to get as much as aim as possible but to make him do more of the midrounding and less of the pressure on JohnQT, Yes, Eeiu can do the same and bring in the missing x factor of this team "important clutches/imp game performances" that he did with furia, which of course is undoubtebly the reason why Sentinels should get him but Ewok will not.
  • Ewok likes to believe that it's not his fault but the system he builds around the players, so he will test new things in the next coming matches.
  • Also finally the nailbreaking point, Ewok never benches his team/replaces mid tournament, making it highly impossible for Eeiu to not join Sentinels at all.

I want eeiu to join sen but :(

jonahp is a great flex; on g2, he played vyse (many sentis), all initiators, even some smokes (Viper, since valyn is main smokes - leaf and jonah are both hyperflexes)
could keep jonah, get eeiu? idk

So who would you like to drop my friend? Jerrwin?

see the problem is he plays duelist. I love jerrwin, but, his performances so far are not the best; so ideally yes, but who plays duelist then?

Right, I'll make a thread about Jerrwin soon.

Well Ewok doesn't get the final say in the roster so while Sen probably won't sign eeiu during this season, there's a chance they could sign him during the offseason.

Actually, you are correct. Hear me out. By the time Sentinels get Eeiu, I believe it would be a bit too late.

Well its likely too late for Sen this year anyways unless they pull off some insane run that I really don't think they're capable of. So I think Sen is probably thinking what moves can we make in the offseason to be better next year and that would be -Jonahp -Jerrwin +eeiu +entry

Realistically I'd love to have Penny replace Jerrwin. I think right now in short, what Ewok should do is actually bench Jerrwin, I believe the pressure is getting to him. We need to be professional and bench him, let him play and develop as a young player with us and the best outcome I see is Penny who would temporarily replace him. The idea should be to help the young Jerrwin's mental develop by temporarily dropping him and letting him learn new things outside the game and let penny help this team for now, best temporary solution I can see.

For next year, I would love to see Eeiu replace Jonah but Jonah is Jonah, he's one of the best valorant players now past his prime. It'd be interesting to see Eeiu being brought to the team and Jonah Eeiu and John (who worked with eeiu before in m80) work together to improve the team as a whole, yes, it would make the wage budget a bit more complicated and the playing time, but at the same time, I think it'd be interesting from my perspective to see Jonah become a coach for SEN and work with, like what PRX did with mindfreak.

I generally agree with what you've said, but I think there's a chance that either Jonah retires after this year if Sen fair to make it to any internationals.

Jonah is still 25 years of age. Esports age 25 isn't that too old. I'll say he should retire after 27-28 years of age. I still think the AC offer should be on the table.

TL;DR: Even though eeiu is an elite free agent who could bring massive clutch power to Sentinels, Ewok’s coaching history proves he absolutely will not replace a slumping JonahP mid-tournament. Ewok builds success on extreme roster patience and systemic fixes rather than panic benching for raw aim, meaning he will force this exact squad to work through their mistakes together.

i completely agree, but with someone like Rob Moore who owns that roster and has now explicitly said he isnt going to give the coach free reign over the roster moves anymore. I could see a world where Rob just pushes JonahP out and inserts eeiu in. Which isnt terribly bad either, eeiu is such a good player and an upgrade from Jonah.

We need to spam Rob's chat to get Eeiu soon.

probably in the works lets be real, Rob isnt stupid, as much as hes annoying. He keeps very tapped into things like this.

I guess he learnt from Z incident.

well he didnt want Kyuu and N4RRATE on the roster anymore and couldnt do anything because Kaplan had complete say on the roster, so SEN was shit during Kickoff, to be fair, Kaplan wasn't adapting to the meta well.

Kaplan definitely needed a change and it was a good idea for both parties to mutually leave in my opinion. I also like to believe Rob should have some power in the team too. I don't think he wanted Kyu and Narrate out but he prob wanted Zekken to stay so he can be duelist, narrate initiator/flex duelist on phoenix, johnqt igl, reduxx, cortezia (that would have been a fire team)

Yeah i think both parties are happy with the result now anyways. Going to be interesting when M80 faces off asgainst SEN. I think depending how they go in play-ins, i dont entirely see them making some crazy run, but i do wonder if they will look at a different duelist next year over Jerrwin. I just think the system and way SEN wants to play it needs a duelist who not only enties but also high frags, it just seems right now Jerrwin is entrying great, but hes not getting the kill he needs to.
