I mean it's clear that their brand has just become bigger than only watching VCT. Which is fair because compared to other games like CS, watchpartying VCT is not a year-round schedule, there's long breaks in between that have to be filled with something.
So from a financial perspective, I would guess that their audience is so big that it's more about retaining viewership and fans with new/exciting content than trying to recruit new fans into the ValComp scene.

i used to think primordium was ugly but i recently realized it has actual aimbot

T1 comps were clearly anti-meta comps that had Iso and Reyna not Yoru. Also they haven't won anything since Bangkok.
PRX is PRX you can't just copy paste their comps without understanding how they play. and they don't play double duelist on Sunset

LEV may be running some of last year's comps but MIBR is back to the stone age with double duelist

posted 1 week ago

assuming the list is G2 -leaf, 100T looks good enough to beat them.
i would take 2G over MIBR to be honest. and LEV beat LOUD so I don't know why they're in the opposite order.
KRU is a bit low especially considering Champs is on the line. I could see them 2-1 NRG on a good day.
C9 are serial chokers and we've only seen them against Furia and EG. putting them in 4th is optimistic.

this is my playoffs prediction:

  1. 100T
  2. KRU
  3. SEN
  4. G2
    runner ups: NRG, C9

i mean verno isn't bad but you just need a decent yoru player in this meta and aspas refuses to touch the agent

u were confidently wrong and got fact checked. your ego is clearly bruised but that's no reason to be name-calling.

i assume you're talking about if leaf doesn't come back to G2? otherwise none of the teams you listed besides PRX have better results this year

posted 1 week ago

ok but we're not comparing their potential in 2 years, we're comparing him to leaf at present day.

self-vod review for your gameplay errors and work on your crosshair placement in deathmatch. if you can't figure out what's wrong with your own mechanics then just copy someone else's fundamentals routine. the one in woohoojin's guide to gold is not bad.

I think putting high pressure on rookies is not uncommon in esports, for example Less had a lot of problems with Sacy in the original LOUD roster. They may have won Champs together, but having so much criticism directed at you by a more experienced player is always a tough position to be in.
The problem with T1 though, is that BuZz and stax were both scapegoating Sylvan, Izu didn't do anything since he was the next target, and autumn was just a bystander. I think the existence of an in-group/clique is overly toxic and cannot lead to long-term success.

well g2 is gonna play with a caster so that should be funny

maybe the real tejo merchant was crazyguy all along

f0rsaken is definitely on the list but he's not a top 5 controller player itw. he is just a phenomenal flex player who plays Omen very well while still flexing onto scan initiators or duelists when the team demands it.
the same goes for Chronicle. he can play whatever the team needs, and he does it well. but with 1.05 rating on Cypher, he is not the 3rd best sentinel in the world right now. leaf and nats are much better contenders

posted 1 month ago

he's the pope not a valorant player. obviously not eligible

posted 1 month ago

other way around, I think. there was some drama years ago after the champs winning LOUD roster broke up, basically some clips were leaked of Sacy verbally berating Less. I think it was widely known that Sacy had very high expectations from the team and pushed them very hard, especially the 2 rookies which were aspas and Less. this allegedly created a toxic environment for Less who was just a teenager at the time, but we don't really know the whole story.

posted 1 month ago

"everyone gonna have a different list" yea but u put a flex player in ur top 3 sentinels

posted 1 month ago

this is true for almost every production team in the world tbh, 5-10 mins is not egregious for esports lol

one of the r6 players on the liquid roster posted a gif of an atomic bomb after losing to a japanese team, so honda pulled their sponsorship lol

  1. g2
  2. rrq
  3. fnc
  4. geng
  5. liquid (w/ nats)
  6. sen
  7. xlg (w/o you)
  8. prx
  9. wolves
  10. bilibili
  11. heretics
  12. mibr

everyone in the top 5 should have a chance to win champs, and I just don't see XLG taking it. maybe they could win 1 or 2 matches though.
who's up there instead? SEN looks too shaky, my pick is TL, who could be a serious dark horse depending on how well they adapt the 6-man roster.
if PRX finds their form they could certainly make top 3 or even go to grand finals but we all know how that's gonna end.
i think you're sliiightly overrating FNC (who you can only compare to #11 TH) and GEN.G (stomped a weak MIBR and a still-adapting PRX).
i also think you're underrating RRQ, jemkin on a good day can absolutely destroy any team not in the top 3.
G2 are still the favorites for this tourney IMO. all this prep time only serves to make them stronger.

yep. it also kinda surprised me at first, because you would expect that an English soccer team would invest in EMEA Valorant, but due to the nature of franchising the CN market was open & their main goal is just to get more viewership for their soccer team. so playing in EMEA would be counterproductive since most Europeans already know Wolves, instead they're focusing on growing a Chinese fanbase overseas.

posted 1 month ago

it's like if TMV was a big basketball fan and the Lakers signed a Chinese Valorant team, he would support them. same deal

I think it's too early to say anything for certain, there's still gonna be role issues unless penny picks up the sentinel role.
they looked good on icebox just now but that's just because it's icebox where you can run basically any comp and still win off of a nats lurk.

demon1 is not an emea import lol

posted 1 month ago

americas is not a 1 team region, don't forget EG almost took G2's playoffs spot. SEN, MIBR could both make a run at toronto.
vitality looked great at bangkok and fnatic and heretics are looking in form for toronto. definitely not a 0 team region
EDG didn't even qualify, your own fans are saying that CN is sending terrible teams. which is why the region is getting criticized as a whole.

what did FroD say? lions don't concern themselves with the opinions of sheep?

Riot EMEA use the same PCs as they do for league and have not updated the hardware because you can run league on a potato.
PCs start having issues that cause constant tech pauses throughout games.
officials decide that LAN is the problem so they switch to online for the TL vs KC game.
proceed to have 3 hours worth of tech pauses in 1 single map and decide to postpone the rest of the games until they fix the issue.

well yes. I think he named himself after that girl considering that she is his twitch profile picture lol

stats wise: she's the #3 rated player from kickoff and #1 in terms of ACS
however she does have significantly less rounds played than anyone else in the top 10

eye test wise: mechanically she is definitely on par with other duelists in t1.
had some nice clutches against gentle mates and aced against team gluequid

i am incredibly biased but mCe is an incredible scouter and historically has transformed rookie teams to perform way better than expected. in 2023 this guy took 2 collegiate level players and managed to go 8-1 in the regular season. immi's most notable accomplishment? i guess is letting go of rossy... which obviously isn't 100% his fault, but who knows if a different coach would've just rebuilt around his 2 best players instead?

instalock reyna every game, get mechanically good, and carry urself out of shit elo, then find a non braindead duo in plat/dia and consistently play w them

derke I feel is the minimum guy you have to diff to be a top 5 jett. (smth has never played derke, so who knows?)

  1. aspas
  2. t3xture
  3. kk
  4. derke
  5. something

these next five either lack (recent) international experience or are better at other duelists.
imo cryo has peaked the highest out of these 5 but I think zekken will prove himself next year

  1. jaw
  2. primmie
  3. oxy
  4. zekken
  5. cryo

lastly,

  1. miniboo
  2. keznit

mada and hyunmin don't have t1 experience yet so i won't rank them.
surely buzz and demon1 should be on this list instead

Reducing bullet damage is a very interesting idea that would fit well with Harbor's water theme, but imo it doesn't really help his relevance as a controller. Your idea (buffing the slow and removing it for allies) is better because it buffs his general viability, and although the Anderzz idea would help him on maps like Icebox where he's chosen purely for his retake utility (cove), it doesn't actually improve his overall utility as a main smokes agent

posted 9 months ago

realistically at the pro play level everyone is a top 0.1% player and macro strategy is reliant on team comp so winning a 4v5 is extraordinarily unlikely

posted 9 months ago

I'd argue that s0m and Shao move up. s0m is a pretty safe top 10 pick, and Shao put up better numbers than F0rsaken while flexing 9 agents.
I'd love to see someone else get the 17th spot on this list, but I can't think of any particular standouts. Cloud maybe? kiNg or keznit? Suygetsu?

posted about a year ago

maybe s0m plays perma Viper, Ethan KAY/O, fns sentinel, and they run double controller with jawg/demon1 playing duelist and main smokes on raze/jett maps?
