- ALL VCT teams have EWC as a part of their schedule a year in advance (unlike other non-VCT tournaments). It is unserious to consider EWC as an irrelevant tournament. ALL teams have plans for it before the season starts.
- Objectively, EWC is a valid tournament (equal to a Masters at the minimum). Politics do not decide whether the tournament is mickey or not.
- EWC is a yearly tournament (2025 onwards until 2028 minimum). This is not a one-time tournament.

Single-Elim Playoffs & Grand Finals (The EWC Grand Final is more fair than any VCT Grand Final because there is no 2-map ban advantage for either of the finalists)
Consolation Final (to ensure the 3rd and 4th place teams get the prize money they deserve)
Group Stage: All winner/loser/decider matches are a best of 3 (same group stage format as VCT Champions). - Rewards better-performing regions: (EMEA did the best at EWC 2025, so they get an additional slot at EWC 2026 which is taken from the worst-performing region at EWC 2025 (China)).

I agree EWC isn't mickey, whilst I don't the achievement holds the same weight as say masters 2 due to scheduling issues I do think it's close and not something you can just disregard because of the ethical issues

Also, the whole tournament is played on online server, EVEN the "lan" part is actually played online. So unless you want to argue that online tournament are worth the same as LAN tournament, in which case, why even do LAN? this is a Mickey Mouse part
I also care about the other part and won't watch EWC, but technically if those 2 point were fixed I'd call it a "real" tournament that I still won't watch

Also ngl ewc is never going to be worth as much as masters as long as they don't fix the schedule. The event is just not fair for 2nd and 3rd seed masters teams. Also the main event ending like 4 days before 2nd stage is so bad. Should have held it after champs rather than enc.

The reason it's mickey mouse is because it has shit production, teams playing with subs or teams who have just rebuilt or are in the middle of rebuilding, the teams who have made London not trying nearly as hard to make ewc allowing for a team that otherwise shouldn't have made it in and then there's the fact that it happens right after london and before stage 2 meaning a bunch of teams are just going to use strats used at london rather than new strats.

EWC holds weight for circuits where there is no official first party supported scene like CS, but for scenes like League of Legends and Valorant there is no real reason to give it any weight when we already have official riot sponsored tournaments and trophies to compete for. Plus its really horribly integrated into the current calendar where it happens between one of the breaks in the season instead of in the offseason and it incentives teams to take it less seriously to prepare for actual VCT competition
all single elim is mickey imo i will only care if they produce very entertaining games
