If they do this for all regions, 100T are for sure safe in Americas. Although I can think of one NA team that definitely might go...

you're not talking about EG, right?

It's either EG or C9 let's be honest

what does this mean for C9

#4

SEN, 100T, NRG, G2, LOUD, MIBR, KRU, LEV for Americas would be almost guarenteed.

If Furia pulls a better year than MIBR i would be worried for them. Furia has way more fans

with Aspas on the team MIBR is the most popular team in Americas, and he's already signed through 2027.

I read the tweet to mean that they want to have the orgs that have org specific fandom - to cultivate and encourage orgs that actually engage with the fans

Player fandom is great, but you lose it once the player moves on

But does Furia even have a fandom in Valorant? they weren't even particularly notable before their Kickoff run viewership wise. Their fanbase comes from CS.

Not to generalize to hard, but I feel like Brazilian fans especially kind of just latch on to whoever is the best at the moment.

#46

No Furia has a big fanbase they just never cared about Val because their team was shit and not even the org itself cared that much

Once they started winning more Furia fans got back into Valorant

Furia Valorant fans are Furia Valorant fans

that statement would be true in Valorant's first years, but Furia Valorant has a fanbase who didn't come from CS since 2023

and yeah, on a Masters event we would cheer for any brazilian team there even if we were not fans (like Loud 2022)

Furia was notable in Brazil, just not internationally

Don’t they have more fans in other esports?

#48
foythvlr

Yeah but they are org fans they just didn't care much about val before because the org itself never cared and the results were bad but with recent results they might be able to bring more of these fans

#39

furia DOES NOT have more fans than mibr.

#47
foythvlr
0
Frags

Yes they do

MIBR has fans but most of them on Val are there just for aspas, Furia has actual org fans outside of Valorant and they are bringing them into the game with the recent results

#49

Okay but this is valorant. So who cares about other esport game?? we should only be talking valorant wise when these discussion comes

#50
foythvlr
0
Frags

No we shouldn't

Furia has potentially more fans than MIBR, following from other games can come to Valorant. Riot will take that in consideration lol (but thats only if Furia has a much better year than MIBR which prob isn't happening)

#52

Furia's fans are all in CS, a game whos fanbase notoriously cant stand Valorant's existence

fuck the fandom we need competent orgs especially in APAC

#6
archetype

Frags

there are barely any competent orgs in APAC outside of KR/JP, GE, and PRX.

RRQ had that old controversy around contract jailing their players
Talon and BLEED we know about
TS is accused of nepotism hires, outside of that they seem to be okay
Full Sense is known to cheap out

that's just the nature of the scene. SEA is still developing as a major esports region so the orgs there are not to the same level as CN/KR. And even then CN has really shady matchfixing pervasive even in tier 1 esports like league of legends. Because esports is so unsustainable financially it's difficult for orgs to settle in regions like Asia without a significant and dedicated fanbase/culture.

Not really i don't really know about others sea org but if it was id we have lot of a competent org and have crazy amount of viewers/market here among all of team just look at BOOM they never have controversy, ONIC is same tier as RRQ, ALTER EGO is decent same tier as FS i would say, EVOS is same we never really have a problem (also it is problem when the org is contract jail player lmfao how is that problem for RRQ as a org)

#13

behaviour like contract jailing your players (especially the nature of RRQ's, which also I believe involved unfair wages) is not exactly good looks for partnership, given that Riot literally stepped in and gave them a warning for doing it lmao?

Indonesia have a surprisingly high amount of sustainable and well-functioning orgs I agree. BME is the biggest one that comes to mind.
ONIC, Alter Ego, EVOS, and RRQ are all mobile gaming orgs, which explains where they get their money from. As I understand it Indonesia is a powerhouse in mobile esports.
But to my knowledge (which partially comes from SEA fans informing me about the scene) a lot of orgs in SEA will contract jail their players under bad conditions, which is not exactly fitting for partnership if Riot hasn't changed their standards.

I never knew RRQ has that kind of problem lmfao can u give the official link that riot warning them for that behavior

a lot of this information was leaked by reputable reporters and Riot didn't make any official statement, so it's more of an open secret than anything

ah this is supposed to mean like that, yeah they shouldnt rep id at first place (boom and onic just win lcq) they just ph tier 3 roster before cause they couldnt/losing compete in indo, and instead taking player from final lcq boom and onic they prefer cheap ass player from random ass league (i heard their manager is philippines cause this roster is philippines before they chosen as id rep) so there a nepotism here

Riot pretty openly has said multiple times that their partnership format has worked perfectly to their expectations.

It's probably in their interests to not say that it's failing especially if they want to keep it but I honestly don't think it's working at least the way I think it should

#12

how exactly do you think its failing though.

#16
Galactc

I doubt it's profitable for riot considering they do partially fund the orgs
It incentives orgs to not take risks since there's no relegation
Also I don't think it's good for players since it's difficult to get in without winning ascension since I theory most teams shouldn't be making loads of roster moves

If I were an org, I would steal the FunHaver tournament or mimic it.
-Gives opportunity to interact with upcoming talent
-Steals t2 competitive scene from other orgs
-Keeps a close eye on agent comps and new strategies
-Gives potential to bring to LAN and open the door for shared revenue between my sponsorships and riot

But that would require people do some work and not just exist and party.

Depends on the org I feel like it's harder for some but someone like sen (who tbh do already do some stuff) can easily do something like this

NA's tier 2 scene is so good. It has so much investment, from college to tier 2 to many off season tournaments. Other regions could learn from them

I agree, otherwise they could be in danger, since they dropped the LoL team and they are a lot of contenders to steal their spot and showed they where more reliable financially (SR, G2, FQ, Lyon)

why would 100T be removed? they are a popular org

#45
KGad03

it's cause of idiots like the dude above you that people think that

100T are ahead of C9, EG at absolute MINIMUM in terms of financials and stability, and 100T had the 4th highest selling classic in Americas last year even though they were absolute dogshit. They also constantly do events for fans. The Org's literally never been at a better place (just ignore the last week bc we've lost across every title but Rivals this last week 😭 )
