Chronicle is hands-down the most overrated player in Valorant history—crowned GOAT by MEMEA fanboys who mistake being in the right place at the right time for greatness. For all his "trophy count and flexibility", he's left zero dent on the game's culture—no viral clips that live rent-free in every player's head, no memes that flood Reddit, no "Chronicle meta" that forced Riot to patch agents around him. True icons like TenZ or yay rewired how millions aim; Chronicle? Just a quiet stats-padding shadow in Fnatic black-and-orange.
He’s a textbook system baby who only shines when surrounded by super-teams, never once the undisputed best player in the world and never even the MVP of his own squad. He’s never once been the consensus best player in the world—not in 2021 when nAts lurked circles around him, not in 2023 when Leo, Alfajer and Derke stole every MVP vote, and sure as hell not now while Aspas breaks World Records all the time.
Top-20 on a good day, top-50 on most. Worst of all: zero rings at Champions, the one trophy that actually matters. Runner-up in 2021 losing to Kiles and only more embarassing losses ever since. Until that gold badge hits his résumé, Chronicle remains the ultimate “almost” merchant— always in super-teams, glazed by MEMEA agenda, and forever fraud-checked by the big Champions stage.
saying champs is the one trophy that actually matters is the most delusional thing I've seen 😂 the only thing champs has over masters is there being 16 teams but has there even been a single instance where the 4th seeded team won? people argue over prestige and what not but I only care about trophy value from a competitive viewpoint. champs is the best only because it has the most teams but even then it's worth 1.25 of a 12 team master trophy at most

I don't follow CS but all tournaments where the qualification and format are reasonable and the teams are all trying their best are equal to me. something like EWC is worth a bit less than a master because of the qualification format and the bo1 but still over kickoff which is only 8 teams

if they have the same format and qualification sure I am, "prestige" is entirely made up. you know teams are giving it their all in both worlds and MSI, it's seriously stupid to think that winning worlds gives you more credit as an athlete than MSI. (and again, I don't follow league or CS so I'm not sure about their formats etc, this is assuming they're the same or relatively close)
they're trying to cook you but you're right. objectively there's nothing tangible separating a masters title and a champions title apart from number of teams or format differences. arguably, fewer teams makes it harder for any one team to win the tournament, because in any given round they're never facing less than a top 3 team of a region (or top 2 previously sometimes) - as opposed to champs where a 1st seed can go against a 4th seed, for instance.
tbf, he is overrated in GOAT debate, it shouldn't be a debate that aspas clear the shit out of him and the trophies carrying him in every debate but i think he is top 10

No one who has played sports at a significant level believes what you just said.
Champs is the most important because it’s the end of the year tournament. It’s that simple. Everything you do in the season leads to champs.
It may not be a “much harder” tournament, but it’s still the most important and most prestigious.
But I also don’t think Chron is overrated. Top 3 flex in the world.
