Hi guys, i am thinking abt quiting val (besides the vcc i signed up for)
its for 2 main reasons. ive been stuck in bronze for a shit load of time and it feels like even tho my aim is improving there is always something preventing me from ranking up (for example yesterday i had 4 games with a average of 1.2 kd and 23%hs(of which 2 games were 30%) but it feels like there is no real improvement
and reason 2 is the fact my friends dont seem to like playing/stacking with me because of my rank. its quite shit and yeah,
so i wonder
do i quit?

Don’t tell anyone about this, but on average 8/10 people who participated in vcc eventually achieved higher ranks in comp

A perfect example is Smello, a guy who in his rookie vcc szn was silver 1, but after only half a year has peaked immortal

hardstuck bronze is always a mechanical issue
there are zero bronze players with good mechs
just grind crosshair placement and angle holding in DMs every day, learn movement, and watch your gameplay and compare it to radiants

#12
Teunoin

Frags

i mean when i drop 25 in a game and i get an afk it isnt. for a bronze player my mechs are very good

#42
localkoolkid
-1
Frags

if ur mechs are good for a bronze you would not be bronze, either you get an afk every other game or you are coping

#43

The skill gap in bronze is actually huge, most games you get at least one teammate who either doesnt know how to put on a headset or ads walk spray or doesnt even know what the agent hé plays does or you get an afk

If you are experiencing, silver will also probably be an extremely slow climb as well
I'd probably suggest making a new account and trying to at least place at the top of s3 once you are confident that it's only your teammates that are the problem

Everyone in bronze sucks, and if you are still in bronze after years then you also suck

I started in iron and now I'm ascendant, so trust me when I say that mentality is the key
You shouldn't be satisfied with barely being better than the average bronze player because that is still high bronze skill level, you need to be better than everyone in your rank to rank up.

If you have trash teammates the enemy team has trash teammates just as often as you. If you aren't winning you are the common factor on your team. Change your own gameplay and you will change the results. Don't blame your team until you are in a high enough rank for it to matter.

a bronze player cant tell if a bronze player has good mechs. Thats like the blind leading the blind.

Let's be very honest - there is way more to improving than just your pure aim and you are tunnel-visioned on the superficial aspects of aim such as HS% and KDA. You don't see or feel improvement because you think you're already improved in what you think is important rather than looking at the bigger picture.

Any professional or high-rank analyst would see how you highlighted on those two stats and probably tell you the same thing that you care about things which don't matter in the grand scheme of the game. Consider your decision making, your map awareness and your communication as well. These qualitative factors which impact your game will be constantly changing and something you will feel like you can always improve upon.

I can understand that this might sound hypocritical in a sense given how many pros and coaches say you can get to ascendant or diamond with aim alone. But they are talking about aim which can carry a team of clueless players and AFKs - if you can't do that then you aren't at the mechanical aim level these people talk about which can get you in the mid-region of the ranked space.

You definitely have a lot more to think about and I think a short break from the game to help reset your mental is well-deserved and perhaps even required to get back into ranked with a better idea of how to climb. I can understand playing without your friends sucks and it's way harder - trust me, I've been there. However, if you can prove to yourself you can climb, they will see your efforts and stack with you.

Take a break

When u return play max 3 games a day… spend most of ur time in dm’s (worthytv on yt has a video on how to properly dm) and when u play those ranked games u put 100% into ur comms ur mechs and generally paying attention to what you and your opps are doing no auto pilot…

Take each game and look at what you could have done better in each round and glaze ur self when u did well… if u have a friend who is ranked higher than u have them look at it

Keep it simple.. 1 or 2 agents max… have simple plans for those agents

Maybe consider aim training… maybe 30mins a day

At the end of the day have fun… if it’s not fun u probably won’t rank up

“oh no if i play against higher ranked people ill do shit!!”
no fucking shit. they’re plat. you’re bronze. the skill difference is massive.

i used to be that guy

my friends would shit on me for going fkn 0-18 or some shit in their lobbies because i was legit so ass

but it gets better once you solo queue more trust me
it takes time but i went from iron 3 to silver 3 (shit to shit but improvement) and people who play with me say my util is alright

solo queue to regain your confidence. don’t care about rr anymore at that rank you can always gain it back
play for yourself and try and find fun and effective ways to play the game. if it means statpadding instead of playing objective then sure! but the point is to have fun. once you have fun, you’ll naturally start improving.

taking a healthy break may be an option to regain the fun in playing

anyway you should have a littttle bit more hope; you are more capable than you think

#58

you are capable just try finding a good duo like maybe from dc servers or from ranked itself

Honestly, my tip would be to watch people on youtube with handcams so you can observe how they aim. Most of the time bad aim just boils down to bad technique. Imo with good technique you can achieve above average results in both the game and kovakks.

Only quit if you truly want to quit. Caring about your rank, to me, means you still care about the game enough to keep playing and focusing on improvement. I was stuck in Bronze-Gold from 2021-2023 and peaked in Ascendant 3 in 2024 (or early 2025), improvement isn't fast
.
.
I was also bronze-gold with 2000+ hours in CS at the time. I was just playing like an idiot and wondering why I wasn't ranking up. Honestly if you start treating valorant less like a "run around and shoot the other guy" game and more like a game with actual strategy you will improve much faster. Use your brain more and your arm less
