You are normally assigned 100 points to spend on players. Last time I did VFL, if you have 6 points left, but you try to get a player that costs 10. You would not be able to add them to your team. Idk if Illumi (the backend dev for VFL) fucked some shit up, but what pkkkk describes should not be possible.

1. It didn't happen during the regular season, which is why it is called an offseason event.
2. It did not have the majority of teams (no international has had the majority except for Lock IN). 16/48 is a minority.
3. It did function like a regular tournament, but SOOP and Sen City Classic did as well.
4. Teams were also trying as hard to win (which, for 95% of teams, they were), in SOOP and Sen City Classic. You cannot prove/disprove that teams were trying hard to win or not unless they are clearly throwing.
5. It is a legitimate trophy, just an offseason one. It's fine to feel proud of it, but also in the grand scheme of things, it is worthless.

I would argue that Kru is treated similarly, but they only make champions and get grouped, so they don't really get a spotlight shone on them as much.

If you want to compare trophies/winners of internationals, I can do that as well. EMEA and AME are tied with having won 5 trophies each, APAC has won 3 trophies, and CN has won 1. If we consider the average placements of teams from 2021 to 2025 at internationals, you will notice EMEA dominating 2021, but 2022, 2023, and 2024 were dominated by Americas teams, and only 2025 is dominated by Pac teams. I would argue that Americas is doing fine, people just love to hop on the bandwagon without looking at the facts.

Same, I have 100% pick ems so far. I have been using the 2nd-place team over the 3rd-place team strat for now. I changed it for th vs prx, and my strat has had an 83% success rate. I have th over wol, which I am confident in, but tl vs MIBR could go either way.

I don't think hard bots tell you anything about an individual's skills. I am silver 2 right now. Even outfragging someone does not mean you deserve a higher rank than them.
