That’s what the dumbasses used to say, but after NRG won Champions and the 2026 Americas is stacked, we’ve got the strongest region in the world by far. They were all wrong.

And the main reason the Americas are even stronger for 2026 is because the BR and LATAM teams are leveling up and bringing in truly competitive squads.

Apeks and KOI are not even part of EMEA anymore. You're grossly underestimating GM8. FUT is a decent team too.
Pacific is a bit questionable. Maybe they could beat the bottom tier teams but they would struggle against mid tier teams like RRQ, TLN etc.

You don't clearly even know what you are talking about. 2025 especially towards end EMEA was very competitive. FNC, TH, TL, BBL, GX, NAVI even KC at times. Cant' say same for Americas. And Champions performance makes no difference in this. Only G2 had any real expectations based on regional Americas.

TL underperformed in Champs and played nowhere near the same level as in EMEA. Everyone knows this. Both TH and FNC topped their group with GX eliminating S0ntinels and having a close game vs PRX. GX inexperienced roster and bad day vs NRG. TH inconsistent as always and MIBR was having good event. Fnatic made it to finals and lost. Literally only difference between Americas and EMEA in Champs was whoever won the finals. Rest of the placements were exact same. And I'm talking about the regions pre Champs. You would be lying if you think Americas looked more competitive than APAC or EMEA.

all I'm hearing is cope. I can do the same look: sen were a dead teams with dead vibes by champs, mibr had rookies and an igl who's only been doing it for 2 months, nrg topped the hardest group in the event despite having 3 international rookies and a widely doubted igl, g2 are international chokers as always and underperformed vs prx and drx. Also emea stage 2 playoffs had fnc and th bomb out after getting blown out by gx and navi respectively while liquid strolled through uppers g2 style (before you say they had close game against bbl g2 had a close game vs nrg too), it wasn't particularly competitive

Sentinels looked mid af for the whole year tho. Got owned by EMEA every event. At least Liquid peaked higher and actually improved throughout the year just for something to go wrong when they were at their strongest. Again TL EMEA performance is nothing like their Champs performance. G2 didn't even top their group and only had to win vs T1 and DRG to get out of groups. No one expected MIBR to do anything because they looked shit before hand. Region saved by NRG peaking at right time. TL bombing out is the only reason this is even a topic. If TL played their level they could have very well made it out of groups while Sentinels would have gotten grouped either way.
