Lobbies are the same when you are top 500 and top 1, especially in na where you don't have enough people in radiant, a 450 rr player will play with the same people as a 1k rr player, not a valid excuse.

Not 40, but 30 is common, when nats grinded ranked he used to lose 30-35 and gain 12 as a rank 1-10, he was over 1k rr though, in lower radiant elo you don't lose as much.

Yes if there is malicious intent, flor simply went on an alt account she personally leveled up (i.e., her own account) and grinded it to asc-immo elo. I mean you see immo players buy accounts or trade accounts with their friends to play in gold or silver, she was in diamond elo for maybe 3 games and was in asc-immo for the rest of the grind. There is nuance to be considered here.

So, then what? It's a neutral stagnation? So if I assume it isn't neutral, then the implication is that the player experience of those at a certain rank is more important than a high elo player with an alt account that wants to rank up with no other intent. But then again, where is the separation? Radiants can queue with immos and be in the same elo where Flor was banned, yet elo abusing hasn't been punished. Mooda, for example, grinded the entire rank ladder (I believe he finished 2nd) by abusing Elo with p0ppin's alt account (i.e., playing immo-asc elo). Flor was in diamond elo for around 3-4 games, but quickly got out of that elo, so I believe the trade-off of player experience was worth it because Flor was able to leave that elo quickly. So then all of this still begs the question, how do you determine "player experience"? If we assume that player experience>alt account (no malicious intent) is true, then you need to determine the value of player experience. Do you truly believe one game against a better player is truly that great a cost? That better player (i.e., Flor) will quickly leave that elo, so do you think Flor playing in asc-immo elo is genuine smurfing? Your entire sentiment just begs the question.

RoyalG no, he does end up smurfing but he tries to go out of his way to make sure it's not as bad as it could be. He just wants to do challenges (sometimes for educational purposes) and at the VERY least he's a good teammate when he plays in lower elo
