imo it’s not the same, esports is way more player-oriented than franchise/team oriented. For example, I only supported 100T cuz of nitr0. Once he left, I had no reason to support 100T. But I’ve had no good reason to stop supporting The Guard/G2 since 2021, so I will stick with them
you get into a team because of a player, but you stay cause you fall in love. I only got into 100T cause of Asuna but now I care about 100T valorant more than any one player.
I remember when I first started playing valorant in 2020 my friends put me on sentinel duty and told me to learn that role. I was getting to know KJ back then and googled/ YouTube’d players who I can learn KJ from and I got introduced to steel ever since I wanted him to do well in his official matches and I started falling in love with other players and 100t (shoutout to dicey too).
This is the answer. I followed TGRD all the way here and if the core left I Id stay a g2 fan
I would rather watch 100T win 1 stage than watch another team win 5 champions in a row, shit just means more to me
You wouldn’t understand you have already switched like 4 teams and support whoever wins.
Exactly you would never understand how losing feels because you support the teams who win and switch around.
(Literally all the teams you mentioned you supported were in their peak years at that time)
i agree with this for sports teams but there is literally no reason to root for an esports org they dont represent your home town/city like traditional sports

Hard pass. An esports org is not a Football team. They switch rosters all the time and if your "favorite" org signs someone you do not like at all are you gonna still root for them? I used to like Liquid but apart from Nats and Keiko they can all suck it.

how do you feel about the SEN G2 rivalry (team and fanbase wise) as a fan of both teams
became a fan of MIBR when everyone was trashing them after they qualified for Champs 2025.
Decided to stand up against the force of malice.
DFM Late 2023- started watching/playing valorant around end of champs 2023 towards start of masters madrid and tried looking for a team to root for. Found out who meiy was from one of my friends and started watching him on streams and watched him play as soon as he joined DFM. Been fans of them since.
G2/TGRD since Masters 2022. Was my first time watching pros & I knew Sayaplayer from Overwatch days so I rooted for them & haven't stopped since.
but ngl i just appreciate good valorant. i love the storylines of teams like LEV rebuilding slowly but surely or the DRX/Talon matches cause of the coaches and ofc the SEN G2 rivalry. this esport is alot more enjoyable when u become neutral
PRX since the very first time I saw their plays (thinking 2021?) and how they played reminded me of ranked lmao.. I also loved their initial "no one is an IGL we all just call" playstyle.. + their social media has always been fire af 🔥🔥🔥
2021?-2022:Liquid through Scream-Nivera era.
2023: Didnt support KC cause fuck the french. Supported Loud because I'm killjoy main and Less was the best kj in the world.
2024: Still Loud even tho aspas left
2025: Envy cause playing Yoru reignited my love for the game and I watched alot of Eggster to get better.
(GX for Champs cause flickless and I do still kinda root for Loud in America's)
Also root for whichever team Aspas plays for cause he seems like a cool guy.
