the debate for goat of valorant is now between Chron and Derke (Chron is winning rn though for sure)
both have never been the best player in the world, chronicle and derke werent even top 2 on fnatic when they won trophies
but somehow above leo and alfa
i have a genuine question. when has aspas been the best player and for how long did that last? 2022 was yay, 2023 was leo/alfa/demon1, 2024 was t3xture, and so far 2025 has been alfa or leaf. if ur argument is that aspas is the goat, ur case makes no sense to me, but if ur tryna say its someone else then im intrigued.
i think aspas was the best player in the world in 2023 and 2024, but even if he wasnt and you wanna hold his worse team against him
i think nats and aspas are 1/2 and alfa and leo are 3/4, but thats because i dont think chronicle or derke can do what nats or aspas have done, which is be leaders on teams and actually be the main man
nats was the main guy on gambit and is the main guy on liquid, aspas was the main man in 2023, went to LEV and was a carry job on a top 3 team itw, then went to MIBR and is a top 3 team in the region with nothing but rookies and overlooked players
i dont think chronicle and derke can do that, considering derke with a superteam has failed to do that(to his credit not his fault), and we havent seen chronicle play on another team yet

2024 NO he wasnt, kangkang, texture, tenz, woot, reins all have better cases
swap aspas with derke kangkang wo0t or demon1 and he does better than any of them

his road to top 3 was 100t and kru and then lost both the matches (and the region is the second worst), eg were better than mibr during stage 1 but didnt get to face them, current nrg clears mibr from the way they looked at toronto

#2 we've seen derke be a top player on a top team (2021, 2022, 2024, 2025)
#3 aspas always plays crazy in regional and then his performance gets worse in international events.
#4 aspas is the only duelist to win an event being the lowest rated player on his team. The reason I mention that is because yall say derke got carried when yall don't say that for aspas, and derke played better his two wins than aspas did in his 1.
2025 IMO is t3xture, i think top 5 at toronto even tho his team choked and lost out, nd hes destroying in ewc too guess champs would be the deciding factor in between t3xture or alfa but if team liquid win give it to keiko
