i was a fan of th at the start of the year and then i watched them choke
- Lost Kickoffs GF to KC
- Threw a 8-4 lead first map vs sen at madrid (which if they won they would've beat sen)
- Only won 1 pistol out of 6 vs PRX (the one they did win they lost the following anti-eco) and then turned map 3 from up 6-2 to losing 13-7, eliminating them from madrid
- Lost Stage 1 GF to FNC after gaining a 2-0 map lead (on lotus, map 3, which was their own map pick, they went from up 7-2 to losing 13-8 and only won 1 pistol round out of the 6 on the maps they lost)
- Lost Masters Shanghai GF after getting brutalized on their own map pick (map 4, lotus, where they won the first three rounds, including their bonus, and then proceeded to lose 13-4) and then going out sad 13-4 on the final map split
- Lost in lower bracket finals in stage 2 after getting their asses whooped twice by VIT (2-1 and 3-1 each)
- Last but certainly least, choking Champs GF after getting brutalized map 2 on their own map pick 13-4 after going down 11-1, and then losing the next map in slightly better fashion by ending 6-6 at the half and then getting walked on for 7/8 rounds after winning the pistol + anti-eco, barely squeaking out a win on their own map 4 13-11, and then actually putting up a decent comeback fight on abyss before giving up map point and the championship to edg due to a kangkang 4k on a save
DId I miss anything?
Miniboo coming back in causing paTiTek to come out which made woot go to flex basically fucked them but it doesn't excuse anything
- Rolled two mid tier teams (sorry BBL fans) in kickoffs this year before being stomped 0-2 by VIT and 0-3 by TL, therefore missing masters bangkok (they hadn't missed an international event since champs 2023)
- Stomped BBL yet again before losing to FNATIC 0-2, beating TL 3-0 after nAts had a bad day, and then getting stomped by FNATIC yet again 0-3, but they made masters toronto
- in masters toronto, they went out 0-2 (both in terms of games lost and the score of those games) to PRX and WOL. PRX is kinda excusable because they won the event, but WOL wasn't entirely locked in yet.
I genuinely don't think I could set my expectations any lower for an organization I once loved
its just ascent+ i would describe it as if u put ascent in AI generator and told it to design the map like a CS map heaven on B is weird but i like how the site is either play aggro or hold with heavy util in choke its so hard defend but a few buffs to the defense and we good
don’t u feel like mid is too clogged? also it’s like if ancient had a connector to mid instead of jaguar
it's great except for the odin spam stuff. If they made the walls denser it's a good map.
just like how lotus is a great map to close out a 8 - 0 lead and to put killjoy ults in spawn to prevent retake?
at least it's better than sunset even though you still lost tragically on that
all new maps are 'shit' apparently. i think its average people will get used to it, spammable site walls will probably get patched and i see some corners being removed down the line
This map has bombsites so deep into the map it might as well be in ct spawn. Riot got complained about main spam so much they put the bombsites in enemy spawn so now we have to stay on site to fight or lose
tbh i think its just people hating on the the new maps because they don't know how to play them. I really liked abyss after some time playing it and i think itll be the same with corrode.
I have a feeling a couple teams might try playing no duelist comps (omen pseudo duelist)
Annoying to defend but the attack is easy as long as the enemy don't play hide and shotguns in the corner on A
