Odds were pretty close for Madrid man. Even as a Gen.G lover, I think SEN were probably slightly the favourites? I mean, they had many more accomplishments than us, and that was also one of the first tournaments the Gen.G core had played together.

No way, GenG had a deeper map pool, double map ban advantage and had just clapped sentinels a couple days earlier. GenG ended up loosing the close maps which is why SEN could win the series.

You’re forgetting we’re talking about favourites. Going into the final, I also thought that Gen.G was the better team, but I feel like SEN were the favourites because they had achieved more. Not sure though, and sorry if I’m wrong, because I wasn’t on VLR much back then 😂

Tenz was the only guy on that Sen roster that even won something before Madrid, and that was years ago. The accomplishments of the rest of the team are basically irrelevant. I think you don’t know what favorites means. Favorites means who is considered more likely to win, not which org has more trophies in the past. Geng were for sure the favorites to win.

Also, SEN literally won the offseason plus kick off, and Gen.G were complete rookies, and even up until the playoffs, people were highkey doubting us. Look man, I am a die-hard Gen.G fan, but I gotta say, we were not the favourites in that GF lol. Especially with that whole "Pacific no trophies" narrative.

Maybe, but T1 also had an extra week of break and also didn't need to adapt to another timezone, SEN would've made playoffs had they not sold that EG game.
